Midlands Music Awards

The Midlands Music Awards (MMAs) are an annual award ceremony, run by the Midlands Music Organization, where accolades are presented to members of Zimbabwe's music industry who come from the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. Winners receive a statuette. The event was established in June 2014. The ceremony is held in June every year and contenders are judged on performances made in the previous year. The show is held at the Midlands Hotel in the capital of the province Gweru and broadcast on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation - Zbc TV. The ceremony features live performances by some of the nominees.

Awards

MMAs grouped into a number of categories which are representative of Zimbabwe's varying popular musical genres. The award is made up of 60% from the panel of judges (adjudicators) and the other 40% comes from the public through voting platforms such as sms among others.

Winky D Zimbabwean musician

Winky D is a Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist, known popularly as "The Big Man", and also known as Dancehall Igwe. He is often considered the Zimdancehall pioneer. He was born in Kambuzuma, Harare the capital of Zimbabwe.

Mi Casa is a house trio or band based in Johannesburg, South Africa and consisting of three members, Dr. Duda (producer) and pianist, J'Something, and Mo-T (trumpeter). HiPipo Music Awards African music awards

HiPipo Music Awards (HMA) celebrates and promotes music, musicians and artistic excellence in Africa. Organized by Hipipo. First “HiPipo Charts Festival”, aka First HiPipo Music Awards, was held in - 2012. The second edition of HiPiPo Music awards (HMA) was held on February 9, 2013.

L kat Zimbabwean hip hop artist

Lovejoy Matare, popularly known by his stage name L kat, is a Zimbabwean hip hop recording artist originally from Kwekwe, Zimbabwe. He records mostly in Shona, his native tongue. In 2005, he released his first single "Wandinoda" as part of his high school compilation album dubbed Manunure High School Mic Fever 1. In 2013, he released his debut studio album Goodlife while signed to Maskiri's record label, Mhondoro Music. The album was supported by the singles "Ndinotya", "Ndiudze", "Tisanyadzise", and "Kupiko". On 6 April 2015, he released an EP album The Golden Episode. The album's singles include "Zita Rako", "My Special Munhu" and "Rudo Ma1". L kat has won several music awards, including multiple Midlands Music Awards and also have been nominated in the Zimbabwe Music Awards.

WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards is an award presented by the TV channel WatsUp TV to honor the best in the African music videos scene.

Mokoomba

Mokoomba is a Zimbabwean musical group, originally from Chinotimba township, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The group sings in a number of languages including English, Luvale, Tonga, Nyanja, Ndebele and Shona. Mokoomba takes its name from a Tonga word that connotes deep respect for the Zambezi river and the vibrant life along its banks.

The Star FM Music Awards were established in 2019 by Star FM to celebrate outstanding musicians on their radio station. The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on Facebook. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artists.

The 2019 Star FM Music Awards were held on February 1st, 2019, at Zimbali Gadrens in Harare, Zimbabwe. The awards identify musical excellence, providing a multifaceted celebration of the rich cultural diversity of Zimbabwean music.
