Midpoint Trade Books, Inc. is a Sales, Marketing, and Distribution Company founded by Eric M. Kampmann [1] and Chris Bell in 1996. Midpoint represents over 250 independent publishers across the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Australia, and Ireland. Midpoint's sales team presents to both national and regional big-box and specialty accounts across the United States and Canada.

Kampmann & Company also owns publishing companies Spencer Hill Press and Beaufort Books. [2] Beaufort includes the imprints Moyer Bell and Papier-Mache Press. Beaufort Books famously published the O.J Simpson hypothetical tell-all book If I Did It. [3] By court order, all proceeds from and rights to the bestselling book belong to the family of murder victim Ron Goldman. [4]

If I Did It is a book by ghostwriter Pablo Fenjves and by O. J. Simpson, in which Simpson puts forth a "hypothetical" description of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Simpson's former manager, Norman Pardo, claimed that Simpson was not involved in writing the book, but rather accepted, against Pardo's advice, $600,000 from the ReganBooks and News Corporation to say he had written it and to conduct an interview.

Ronald Lyle Goldman was an American restaurant waiter and a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson; they were killed in 1994 at her Brentwood, Los Angeles home. Nicole's ex-husband, O. J. Simpson, was acquitted of their murders in 1995, but found liable for both deaths in a 1997 civil suit.

Acquisition by IPG

On August 17, 2018, Midpoint Trade Books was sold to Independent Publishers Group(IPG). About the acquisition, IPG's CEO, Joe Matthews said that the publishing industry "is consolidating because distribution rewards scale, requires expensive technology, and demands high-level access to customers." IPG distributes publishers based in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Ireland, Switzerland, New Zealand, Israel, and others.
