Mikael Jonsson (born 1966) is a Swedish chef and former solicitor who is head chef at the restaurant Hedone in Chiswick, West London. Prior to becoming a chef he was also a food blogger. His restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in the 2013 edition of the guide.
Jonsson was diagnosed as a teenager as having food allergies to shellfish and raw meat. In order to cook, he was required to take cortisone injections in order to prevent the asthma attacks and the onset of eczema. [1] He initially trained as a chef in Sweden, and subsequently trained as a solicitor. Whilst working as a solicitor started writing a food blog at gastroville.com which documented his reviews of restaurants he visited as he travelled. [2]
At the age of 44, he changed his diet and found it gave him a new-found control over his allergies. He chose to pursue his dream of becoming a chef and opened the restaurant Hedone in Chiswick, West London in 2011. [1] He had never previously worked in a professional kitchen. [2] In October 2011, he chased off a man who was urinating on the delivery door to the restaurant. About ten minutes later a group of people entered the restaurant and attacked Jonsson, who was stabbed in the arm and had to have broken glass removed from his forehead. He received sixteen stitches. The gang were later apprehended by police. [3] Hedone was awarded a Michelin star in the 2013 Michelin Guide, published in October 2012; news of the award was accidentally made public a week early. Jonsson follows a Paleolithic diet to control his allergies, and is also gluten intolerant. Jonsson's favourite restaurant is Kojyu in Japan. [3]
Heston Marc Blumenthal is an English celebrity chef, TV personality and food writer. His restaurants include the Fat Duck in Bray, Berkshire, a three-Michelin-star restaurant that was named the world's best by the World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2005.

The Box Tree is a restaurant located in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, England. Owned by Adam Frontal, Yorkshire businessman, who is operating the restaurant with an emphasis of remaining very current within the fine dining offering and experience. Current Executive Chef, Brayden Davies, has been leading the kitchen since the beginning of 2023, having worked at multiple Michelin star restaurants, growing its ever strong reputation and now currently offers a new tasting menu on a monthly basis. The Box Tree was previously operated by chef Simon Gueller and his wife, Rena, from 2005 to late 2022. Under their management the restaurant has been redecorated, although elements from the original owners of the restaurant remain. Reception by food critics has improved over the years; the restaurant held a single Michelin star until 2019 and three AA rosettes. A sister company is also run by the chef, called Box Tree Events.
La Trompette is a restaurant located in Chiswick, London, opened by co-owners Nigel Platts-Martin and Chez Bruce's chef patron Bruce Poole. Since 2008, the restaurant has held one star in the Michelin Guide.
The Ledbury is a restaurant located on Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London, England. It held two Michelin stars from 2010 until 2021, when it lost them as it shut due to Covid-19 restrictions being impractical for the restaurant, making it ineligible for assessment by Michelin inspectors. It has also been featured in S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants. The restaurant reopened in February 2022, after being closed for almost 2 years. It regained both Michelin stars in the 2023 Michelin Guide and was promoted to three Michelin stars in the 2024 Michelin guide.

Alexis Pascal Gauthier is a French chef. He is the chef patron of the Gauthier Soho restaurant in Soho, London and was awarded a Michelin star in 2011. He previously held a Michelin star as head chef of the restaurant Roussillon in Pimlico, London, until 2010. He trained under Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Monaco, and has appeared as a judge on two versions of the BBC One television show MasterChef. He became a vegan in 2016 and changed Gauthier Soho to a vegan menu in 2021 and opened 123 Vegan, a vegan cafeteria.
Andreas Antona is a Greek-Cypriot, British chef and restaurateur. Now the Chef-Patron, and owner, of Simpsons, one of Birmingham's four Michelin starred restaurants, and The Cross in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Antona was a mentor to several other successful Birmingham chefs early in their careers, including Glynn Purnell, Luke Tipping and Andy Waters, and has been described in The Times as "the godfather of modern Birmingham food".
Clare Smyth is a Northern Irish chef. She is the Chef Patron of three Michelin starred Core by Clare Smyth which opened in 2017. Previously she was Chef Patron at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay from 2012 to 2016, won the Chef of the Year award in 2013, and achieved a perfect score in the 2015 edition of the Good Food Guide. Smyth has also appeared on television shows such as Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen. Smyth also notably catered at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding.

Hibiscus was a London restaurant which was owned and run by French chef Claude Bosi. It was opened in 2000 in Ludlow, Shropshire, and won its first Michelin star within a year, and a second in the 2004 Guide. In July 2006, Bosi and his wife Claire announced that they were to sell the location in Ludlow and move closer to London. The property was sold to Alan Murchison, and Bosi purchased a new site on Maddox Street in London. The restaurant closed in 2016.
Pollen Street Social is a restaurant in London, England, run by chef Jason Atherton. It was Atherton's first UK solo restaurant, and in 2011 was named the best new UK restaurant by the Good Food Guide, and the best new fine-dining restaurant in London by Time Out. It currently holds one Michelin star, which it gained within a year of opening. Elements in the restaurant such as the dessert bar have been subsequently included in Atherton's other restaurants. On 22 March 2024, Atherton announced on Instagram that the restaurant would be closing permanently on 31 July 2024.
Lima is a restaurant in London, England, which serves Peruvian cuisine. The chef patron is Virgilio Martínez Véliz. In 2014, it was awarded a Michelin star, the first time a restaurant serving this cuisine had been awarded a star in Europe.
