The tag team of Mike Barton and Jim Steele was a professional wrestling tag team that competed in several puroresu promotions including All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Barton and Steele began teaming in the summer of 2000 after the Pro Wrestling NOAH exodus as Barton and Steele both remained with All Japan. In late 2000, Barton and Steele entered the 2000 World's Strongest Tag Determination League tournament where they finished in 4th place with 10 points. [2]
On January 2, 2001, Barton won the yearly January 2 Korakuen Hall heavyweight battle royal. [3] In March, Steele entered the 2001 Champion Carnival Qualifying League where he tied in first place with Mitsuya Nagai with 8 points. [4] At the 2001 Champions Carnival, Both Barton and Steele entered the tournament. In the end, Steele finished in 8th place with 2 points while Barton finished 5th with 13 points. [5] After the Carnival, Barton and Steele would have a quiet spring and summer, but in the fall entered the All Japan branch of Masahiro Chono's stable: Team 2000. In November, Steele entered World Wrestling Council where he won the WWC Puerto Rican Championship. Later that month, Barton and Steele entered the 2001 G1 Tag League, where they became the runners-up losing to Tencozy in the finals. [6]
In early 2002, New Japan and All Japan ended their relationship and as a result, Barton and Steele returned to All Japan. On January 14, Barton and Steele received their first shot at the World Tag Team Championship, challenging Keiji Mutoh and Taiyo Kea but lost. [7] In the spring, Barton and Steele entered the 2002 Champions Carnival with both being in Block A. Steele finished 3rd with 6 points while Barton became the runner up losing to Mutoh in the finals. [8] On July 20, Barton and Steele won Stan Hansen Cup 4 way battle defeating KroniK, George Hines and Johnny Smith, and The Varsity Club. [9] One month later on August 30, Barton and Steele challenged Kronik for the World Tag Team Championship but were defeated. [9] Following the loss, Barton and Steele left All Japan and signed with New Japan.
Barton and Steele debuted for New Japan in late 2002. The team entered the 2002 Triathlon Series tournament teaming with Yuji Nagata in the fall of 2002 where the team became the runners-up losing to Osamu Nishimura, Manabu Nakanishi, and Yutaka Yoshie in the finals. [10]
In February 2003 the team entered a tournament for the #1 contendership for the IWGP Tag Team Championship where they emerged victorious but the title shot would be delayed as Steele suffered an injury putting the team out of commission. [11] The team returned in the fall of 2003 when they entered the 2003 G1 Tag League. During the league, Barton and Steele received their IWGP Tag Title shot against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Yutaka Yoshie but they lost. [12] The team would finish the tournament in 6th place with 6 points. [13] In December 2003, Barton and Steele had two tryout matches with the WWE but weren't hired. [14] They returned to New Japan until leaving February 2004 and the team broke up from there.
Michael Polchlopek is an American retired professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist. He is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1993 to 1999 under the ring names Bart Gunn and Bodacious Bart, as well as his appearances with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) from 1998 to 2002 and with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) from 2002 to 2004 as Mike Barton.

Kentaro Shiga is a Japanese professional wrestler, currently working as a freelancer. He returned from a two-year hiatus due to injury in 2005.
Takayuki Iizuka, better known by his stage name Takashi Iizuka, is a retired Japanese professional wrestler. He is best known for his 33-year career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he was a three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion. He has also worked for Pro Wrestling Noah, where he was a one-time GHC Tag Team Champion.
Kazunari Murakami is a Japanese professional wrestler and retired mixed martial artist currently working for Pro Wrestling Noah. Murakami is best known for his work in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) during the late 1990s and early 2000s, where he primarily competed as a member of the villainous Makai Club stable. Aside from pro wrestling, Murakami was also part of the first fight in PRIDE history, defeating John Dixson by submission in 1997.
Ryūshi Yanagisawa is a Japanese professional wrestler, mixed martial artist and kickboxer. His real name is Atsushi Yanagisawa. As a martial artist, he competed in K-1, Pancrase Hybrid Wrestling (Pancrase) and Fighting Network RINGS. As a professional wrestler he competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and Inoki Genome Federation (IGF).
Tencozy is a professional wrestling tag team that has competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling. They are seven-time tag team champions. In their history, Tencozy currently hold the second longest IWGP Tag Team Championship reign and are currently the first and only team to have won both the G1 Tag League and World's Strongest Tag Determination League in general and in the same year (2008).
Bad Ass Translate Trading (BATT) was a professional wrestling stable led by Keiji Mutoh, which competed in both New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling from 2001 to 2002. The name of the group meant that it was a group of wrestlers that crossed borders. The groups is best known for the fact that its members were from different promotions: New Japan, All Japan, and Michinoku Pro (Shinzaki).
The Jurassic Powers was a professional wrestling tag team that competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The team consisted of Scott Norton and Hercules Hernandez.
Yutaka Yoshie, is a Japanese professional wrestler, currently working as a freelancer in Japan, performing most notably for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he is a former World Tag Team Champion. He has previously worked for promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion, Pro Wrestling Noah and Pro Wrestling Zero1, where he is currently in his second reign as one half of the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champions.
Makai Club, originally Puroresu Kessha Makai Club, was a villainous professional wrestling stable that competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. It was led by Tadao Yasuda and managed by Kantaro Hoshino, and its gimmick was that of a group of mixed martial arts fighters and pro wrestlers who worshipped Antonio Inoki as a god.
Seigigun was a professional wrestling stable in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, led by Yuji Nagata.
Black New Japan was a professional wrestling stable that competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Black New Japan was led by Masahiro Chono and was one of many of Chono's anti-New Japan stables.
RISE was a professional wrestling stable that competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) that was active from 2007 until 2010. The group was founded and led by Shinsuke Nakamura. The group was the successor to the group "BLACK" which featured Nakamura as a co-leader with Masahiro Chono. At one point or another Hirooki Goto, Giant Bernard, Prince Devitt, Minoru, Travis Tomko, Milano Collection AT, Rick Fuller and Low Ki were members of the group. Members of RISE held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship as well as winning the 2007 G1 Tag League. In 2009 several members left the group to join Great Bash Heel (GBH) and by early 2010 RISE was ended.
Team 2000 was a professional wrestling stable that competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Throughout its tenure, T2000 was New Japan's top heel stable.
The Mad Dogs were a professional wrestling tag team that consisted of Tatsutoshi Goto and Michiyoshi Ohara. The team competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and WAR and were members of several stables including Heisei Ishingun, nWo Japan, and Team 2000.
James Rocha is an American retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the ring names Jim Steele and Wolf Hawkfield.
Kantaro Hoshino was a Japanese born, Korean professional wrestler, manager, and promoter best known for his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. As a wrestler, he was half of The Yamaha Brothers team along with Kotetsu Yamamoto. As a manager, he co-led the heel stable Makai Club, with Tadao Yasuda.
