The Central Hockey League (CHL) was a North American mid-level minor professional ice hockey league which operated from 1992 until 2014. It was founded by Ray Miron and Bill Levins and later sold to Global Entertainment Corporation, which operated the league from 2000 to 2013, at which point it was purchased by the individual franchise owners. As of the end of its final season in 2014, three of the 30 National Hockey League teams had affiliations with the CHL: the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The United Hockey League (UHL), originally known as the Colonial Hockey League from 1991 to 1997 and last known as the International Hockey League from 2007 to 2010, was a low-level minor professional ice hockey league, with teams in the United States and Canada. The league was headquartered in Rochester, Michigan, and, in its last year, consisted of seven teams. It folded in 2010, with most of its teams joining the Central Hockey League. The Central Hockey League teams still operating in 2014 were then added to ECHL. The only former CoHL/UHL/IHL teams still active as of 2022 are the Fort Wayne Komets and Kalamazoo Wings.
Allan Cup Hockey (ACH), formerly Major League Hockey until 2011, is the top tier Canadian senior ice hockey league in the province of Ontario. Founded in 1990, as the Southwestern Senior "A" Hockey League, the ACH is a member of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The ACH's champion contends for the Allan Cup each year. The league came to its latest incarnation when it lost several teams leaving it with two and as a result it merged with the Eastern Ontario Senior Hockey League in 2008.
Derrick Walser is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently the head coach of the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League. Walser played 91 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Matt Pelech is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman/forward who last played for and captained the Belfast Giants of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He formerly played with the Calgary Flames and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Pelech was a draft pick of the Flames, selected in the first round, 26th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2009 as a defenceman with the Flames. He has since switched to right wing and become known as an enforcer. His brothers, Michael Pelech and Adam Pelech, also play professionally.
Anthony James "A. J." Thelen is an American retired professional ice hockey defenseman. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, selected 12th overall.
Jeff Mason is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman and current associate coach for EIHL side Belfast Giants.
Colten Teubert is a Canadian-German former professional ice hockey defenceman and current head coach of the Hampton Roads Whalers USPHL Elite team. He most notably played for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL) before moving to Europe in playing for the Iserlohn Roosters and the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, he played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Regina Pats, who drafted him first overall in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft.
Erick Lizon is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who has played in Ontario Junior Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, United Hockey League, Central Hockey League, ECHL, American Hockey League and Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey. He played for a total of five seasons with Wichita Thunder in Kansas, USA and is currently under contract with the Brantford Blast of Brantford, Ontario in the ACH league for the 2019–20 season.
Benn Olson is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman playing for the Coventry Blaze in the Elite Ice Hockey League.

The Caledonia Corvairs are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Golden Horseshoe Conference of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. The team announced it would not participate in the 2018–19 season.
