Mike Burgoyne (born December 28, 1980, in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman.
Burgoyne spent his Junior Hockey career with the Hamilton Kiltys of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Stoney Creek Spirit of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. [1]
Burgoyne began his post-Junior career with the semi-professional Brantford Blast of the Ontario Hockey Association's Allan Cup Hockey for the 2002–03 season. He then moved to the professional-level United Hockey League during the 2003–04 season, joining the Quad City Mallards. [2] He spent the 2004–05 season with the Mallards, the Rockford IceHogs, and the Motor City Mechanics. [2] After spending the entire 2005–06 season with the Mechanics, Burgoyne joined the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League for the 2006-07season, where he became a CHL All-Star. [2] [3] During both of his seasons with the Blazers, he led the team in assists and points. [3] For the 2008-09 season, Burgoyne played in Northern Ireland for the Belfast Giants of the Elite Ice Hockey League. [4] He began the 2009-10 season by playing 6 games for the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL before becoming an Unrestricted Free Agent on November 11, 2009. [3] [5] On November 25, 2009, he signed with Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League, playing with the team for the rest of the 2009-10 season. [3] For the 2010-11 season, Burgoyne played in The Netherlands for HYS The Hague of the North Sea Cup. [1] For the 2011–12 season, Burgoyne re-joined the Brantford Blast. [6] He played 19 games in his second stint with the Blast, earning himself the award as "Best Defenseman" in Allan Cup Hockey for the 2011–12 season, before signing with the Steaua Rangers of the Romanian Hockey League. [7] [8] He rejoined the Brantford Blast for the 2012-2013 and remained there until his retirement.
The Central Hockey League (CHL) was a North American mid-level minor professional ice hockey league which operated from 1992 until 2014. It was founded by Ray Miron and Bill Levins and later sold to Global Entertainment Corporation, which operated the league from 2000 to 2013, at which point it was purchased by the individual franchise owners. As of the end of its final season in 2014, three of the 30 National Hockey League teams had affiliations with the CHL: the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
The United Hockey League (UHL), originally known as the Colonial Hockey League from 1991 to 1997 and last known as the International Hockey League from 2007 to 2010, was a low-level minor professional ice hockey league, with teams in the United States and Canada. The league was headquartered in Rochester, Michigan, and, in its last year, consisted of seven teams. It folded in 2010, with most of its teams joining the Central Hockey League. The Central Hockey League teams still operating in 2014 were then added to ECHL. The only former CoHL/UHL/IHL teams still active as of 2022 are the Fort Wayne Komets and Kalamazoo Wings.
Allan Cup Hockey (ACH), formerly Major League Hockey until 2011, is the top tier Canadian senior ice hockey league in the province of Ontario. Founded in 1990, as the Southwestern Senior "A" Hockey League, the ACH is a member of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The ACH's champion contends for the Allan Cup each year. The league came to its latest incarnation when it lost several teams leaving it with two and as a result it merged with the Eastern Ontario Senior Hockey League in 2008.
Derrick Walser is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently the head coach of the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League. Walser played 91 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Matt Pelech is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman/forward who last played for and captained the Belfast Giants of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He formerly played with the Calgary Flames and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Pelech was a draft pick of the Flames, selected in the first round, 26th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2009 as a defenceman with the Flames. He has since switched to right wing and become known as an enforcer. His brothers, Michael Pelech and Adam Pelech, also play professionally.
Anthony James "A. J." Thelen is an American retired professional ice hockey defenseman. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, selected 12th overall.

Colten Teubert is a Canadian-German former professional ice hockey defenceman and current head coach of the Hampton Roads Whalers USPHL Elite team. He most notably played for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL) before moving to Europe in playing for the Iserlohn Roosters and the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, he played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Regina Pats, who drafted him first overall in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft.
Erick Lizon is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who has played in Ontario Junior Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, United Hockey League, Central Hockey League, ECHL, American Hockey League and Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey. He played for a total of five seasons with Wichita Thunder in Kansas, USA and is currently under contract with the Brantford Blast of Brantford, Ontario in the ACH league for the 2019–20 season.
