Michael Lee Fowler [13] is an American martial artist who is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. In addition to a number of major competitive achievements, Fowler is notable for the speed at which he attained the rank and is, according to some sources, the 3rd fastest American on record to do so. He is head instructor at North Shore Jiu Jitsu Club in Haleiwa, Hawaii. [16] [17]
Although coming to the art with a background in high school wrestling, Fowler did not begin formal grappling training until after high school in 2001, moving to Maryland to enter into Lloyd Irvin’s advanced grappling program. [16] Fowler’s meteoric grappling career began shortly thereafter, winning numerous private tournaments such as Grapplers Quest and achieving a Pan-American championship as a blue belt. [18] Many championships were to follow, with career highlights of 5 American National Championships and an Asian Open Championship in the black belt division.
He also teaches numerous grappling seminars across the US. [19]
In 2007, Fowler was invited to the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship, a prestigious Submission Grappling event where despite ultimately placing 4th overall, he defeated the legendary Renzo Gracie and Saulo Ribeiro, only losing to the equally elite Marcelo Garcia by guillotine and Andre Galvao by points. Marcelo Garcia is a Brazilian grappler and retired jiu-jitsu competitor who was widely considered to be one of the best grapplers and arguably the best pound for pound submission grappler in the world. Garcia is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Fabio Gurgel of Team Alliance.
Kyra Gracie Guimarães is a Brazilian submission grappler and a 4th degree black belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) practitioner. A member of the Gracie family and a highly decorated competitor, she is a four-time World Jiu-Jitsu champion and a three-time ADCC Submission Fighting World champion.

Felicia Linda Oh is an American submission grappling competitor and martial arts instructor. Oh earned her black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under senior instructor Jean Jacques Machado.
Roberto "Spider" Traven is a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist whose fighting style is based in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission wrestling. He was a sporty person growing up, it took him 16 years to find Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but straight away he picked up tuition with one of the most highly decorated coaches of all time, Romero Cavalcanti AKA “Jacaré”. His natural ability for BJJ was clear from the get-go and the fact that he was obstinate made a recipe for a good fighter. Training 3 times per day alongside other historical figures such as Fabio Gurgel, Leo Vieira, Jamelão and many others, Traven managed to reach the grade of black belt within 4 years, an almost record breaking time frame in BJJ.
Alexandre Ribeiro is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, mixed martial artist and submission wrestler. He is a two-time World Black Belt Absolute World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, five-time World Black Belt Heavy Weight Champion, and three-time World Black Belt Pro Division Champion.
André Luiz Leite Galvão is a Brazilian grappler and professional mixed martial artist. A 4th degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Fernando "Tererê" Augusto as well as a Judo black belt, Galvão is one of the most decorated athletes ever, having won most major international tournaments multiple times.
Kron Gracie is a Brazilian-American mixed martial artist, grappler and black belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and instructor.
Keenan Kai-James Cornelius is an American martial artist. Stefanac is a World, Pan American, and US National Brazilian jiu-jitsu Champion in colored belts, she is a two-time black belt world champion and the first American woman to become world champion in both her weight class and in the Open class.
De'Alonzio Jackson, known as DJ Jackson, is an American Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and mixed martial artist based in Thailand. He is a multiple Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champions in IBJJF, ADCC, Pan American, Brazilian National and COPA de Bangkok. Jackson is the first African-American world Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion.
Bianca Barbosa Basílio also known as Bia Basílio is a submission grappler, mixed martial artist and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) competitor. A multiple time world champion in coloured belts, Basílio is the 2022 black belt World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, a 2019 Pan American Champion, ADCC Submission Fighting World Champion and a three times Abu Dhabi World Pro Champion.

Amy Campo is an American submission grappler, and a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) black belt athlete. A multiple time World, Pans and American nationals champion in colored belts, Campo is the 2022 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Open Class silver medallist and the current ADCC Submission Fighting World champion.
