Michael Freeman (born July 13, 1944) is a former American football defensive back.

Freeman was born in Los Angeles in 1944 and attended Fresno High School in Fresno, California. He played college football at Fresno State and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round (89th overall pick) of the 1968 NFL/AFL draft. He appeared in 37 games for the Atlanta Falcons, six of them as a starter, from 1968 to 1970. He totaled one interception and five fumble recoveries. [1]

James Joseph Sweeney was an American college football coach who was the head coach at Montana State University (1963–1967), Washington State University (1968–1975), and California State University, Fresno, compiling a career college football record of 201–153–4 (.567). Sweeney's 144 wins at Fresno State are the most in the program's history. He was also an assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL). Aaron LaRenze Craver is an American former professional football player who was a running back and kick returner in the National Football League (NFL) for the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers, and the New Orleans Saints. He played college football for the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Dolphins selected him in the third round of the 1991 NFL draft. Craver is the only football player to catch a touchdown pass from John Elway and Dan Marino. In 2006, he was inducted into the Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame. Aaron Craver is currently the track and field and football coach at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, California.

Ronald Eugene Cox is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. He started as middle linebacker for the champion Packers in Super Bowl XXXI as they beat the New England Patriots. In 2001, Cox was inducted into the Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame.

Fresno State was part of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). However, the conference was in hiatus because of World War II in 1944. Since most colleges did not field a team in 1944, the Bulldogs played primarily against junior colleges and military teams. The team was led by first-year head coach Earl Wight and played home games at Ratcliffe Stadium on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California. They finished the season with a record of zero wins and six losses. The Bulldogs were outscored 18–95 for the season.

Herman Albert "Ace" Lawson was a former Sacramento, California city councilman, Fresno State University football standout, highly decorated U.S. Army Air Force/U.S. Air Force officer, combat fighter pilot, and combat flight instructor with the 332nd Fighter Group's 99th Pursuit Squadron, best known as the Tuskegee Airmen or "Red Tails". He was one of 1,007 documented Tuskegee Airmen Pilots.
