Mike Moses is a former commissioner of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and a former superintendent for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD).
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is a branch of the state government of Texas in the United States responsible for public education. The agency is headquartered in the William B. Travis State Office Building in downtown Austin. Mike Morath, formerly a member of the Dallas Independent School District's board of trustees, was appointed commissioner of education by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Dec. 14, 2015, and began serving on Jan. 4, 2016.
The Dallas Independent School District is a school district based in Dallas, Texas (USA). It operates schools in much of Dallas County and is the second-largest school district in Texas and the sixteenth-largest in the United States.
He first served in the TEA before serving in DISD. The DISD board hired him in 2000, [1] and he began his term as DISD superintendent on January 1, 2001. [2]
He wrapped up the district's participation in a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that had been started previously and guided the district through a voter-approved 2002 $1.37 billion school bond. He eventually resigned, citing exhaustion. [1] His final day was August 31, 2004. By 2013 he was the head of School Executive Consulting, Inc., [2] a consulting firm matching school districts with possible superintendents. [1]

Mike Morath is an American software developer and investor. He is the commissioner of the Texas Education Agency. Prior to joining the agency, he served as a trustee for the Dallas Independent School District, where he advocated for school reform and home-rule. Morath began his career in the technology sector.
Yvonne Gonzalez is a former school superintendent, serving in that capacity in the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) in 1997 as well as in Santa Fe Public Schools from 1994 to 1996. She also served as interim superintendent of the Houston Independent School District (HISD) in 1994. Her career in education ended after a conviction in federal court for embezzling money from DISD.
