Mike Phair (born November 8, 1969) is the defensive line coach for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He previously served as an assistant coach for the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, and Carolina Panthers. [1] [2]

Coaching career

Arizona State

In 1999, Phair began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and defensive line coach at Arizona State.

Tiffin University

In 2001, Phair was hired as a linebackers coach and special teams coach at Tiffin University.

Seattle Seahawks

After three years as a scout with the organization, in 2008, Phair was hired by the Seattle Seahawks as an assistant linebackers coach. In 2009, he was promoted to assistant defensive line coach. In 2010, he served as a defensive assistant.

Chicago Bears

In 2011, Phair was hired by the Chicago Bears as their defensive line coach.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In 2014, Phair was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an assistant defensive line coach.

Illinois

In 2015, Phair was hired as a co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Illinois. In 2016, he moved to run game coordinator and defensive line coach.

Indianapolis Colts

On January 26, 2018, Phair was hired by the Indianapolis Colts as their defensive line coach under head coach Frank Reich.

Carolina Panthers

On January 13, 2020, Phair was hired by the Carolina Panthers as their defensive line coach under head coach Matt Rhule.

Ottawa Redblacks

On April 25, 2022, it was announced that Phair had been hired by the Ottawa Redblacks as their defensive line coach under head coach Paul LaPolice. [3]

Mike Smith (American football coach) American football coach (born 1959)

Mike Smith is a former American football coach. He is the former head coach of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, a position he held from 2008 to 2014. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars between 2003 and 2007. During his tenure as the head coach of the Falcons, Smith became the franchise's winningest head coach by number of wins in addition to being the recipient of the 2008 NFL Coach of the Year Award by the Associated Press and was also voted NFL Coach of the Year Award by the Sporting News in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

Hardy Otto Nickerson, Sr. is an American former football coach and professional player. He played as linebacker for four teams over 16 seasons, from 1987 to 2002, in the National Football League (NFL). Nickerson spent the prime of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The hiring of head coaches Sam Wyche and Tony Dungy allowed Nickerson to play in the middle in a 4–3 defense for both coaches; Nickerson played in a 3–4 defense with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While playing in the 4–3, Nickerson went to five Pro Bowls, and was selected for the National Football League 1990s All-Decade Team.

Winston N. Moss is a former American football linebacker and coach who served as head coach and general manager of the Los Angeles Wildcats. He was formerly the assistant head coach and linebackers coach for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 1987 NFL Draft. Moss attended Miami Southridge High School and was an all-state linebacker. He played college football at Miami.

Bruce Arians American football player and coach (born 1952)

Bruce Charles Arians is an American football executive and former coach in the National Football League (NFL). Since 2022, he has been a senior football consultant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arians was previously the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2013 to 2017 and the Buccaneers from 2019 to 2021. He was also the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts during the 2012 season. Arians is known for his slogan "No risk-it, no biscuit," which encourages aggressive playcalling.

Joe Barry American football coach (born 1970)

Joe Barry is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the assistant head coach and linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Rams from 2017 to 2020 and defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins from 2015 to 2016 and the Detroit Lions from 2007 to 2008. Paul Casey "Gus" Bradley is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He came to prominence as the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks from 2009 to 2012, where he was the original playcaller of the team's Legion of Boom secondary. Bradley later served as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 to 2016. Bradley Keith Sowell is a former American football tight end. A former offensive tackle, he played college football at the University of Mississippi. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in nearby Hernando, Mississippi.
