Mikey Glenister (born 20 September 1984) is an English musician, radio DJ and author from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. He plays trumpet, cornet and drums. His biggest clients are Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. [1] and Matt Linnen. Glenister is the author of humour book, So I'm on a Bus . [2] He is currently a marketing and operations manager for Brickhouse in Southend-on-Sea.

Musical career

Coming from a brass band background from an early age, Glenister went on to study at The British Academy of New Music where he studied drums and contextual studies. Shortly after this he started playing with Sam Duckworth in Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. [3] Glenister has also recorded and played live with The Walkmen, Plan B and Tubelord.

Mikey was radio DJ for Ray Radio between 2019-2020, a community radio station based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. His show 'The Only Play is Essex' promoted alternative music from the Essex music scene.

Writing career

Glenister released his first book, So I'm on a Bus , on 1 December 2014, which was published by Zeshan Qureshi. It is illustrated by Lee Baker. So I'm on a Bus is a humorous collection of stories and observations from Glenister, based on real-life experiences whilst getting buses. Despite its December release, So I'm on a Bus was ranked #1 on Amazon.co.uk for hot new releases in comedy throughout November 2014.

Television appearances

As well as live appearances with Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly on shows like T4 Transmission and The Culture Show, Glenister appeared on one episode of Hollyoaks , playing as himself in Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. They also did a live performance on set. [4]

Glenister was also a contestant on the reality TV show Dating In The Dark on Living TV in 2010. [5] He appeared on the episode with his twin brother Rob Glenister. On the show, Glenister met Stephani Sams, who modelled for SuicideGirls.

On 10 September 2015, the music video for 'Demons' by James Morrison premiered. [6] It features Glenister and his twin brother Rob alongside eight other sets of identical twins. The video follows the singer as he observes the physical embodiment of people’s inner demons. The Seven deadly sins are played out, with the twins each portraying a person being controlled by their demon influencing their actions. He and Rob appear as a graffiti artist, representing the sin 'pride'.

Sam Duckworth is an English musician who performs as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. He is also sometimes referred to as Get Cape, Cape, GCWCF and Slam Dunkworth. According to Duckworth, his original stage name came from Retro Gamer magazine, from an article about superhero games such as Batman containing the heading "Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly", although a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon by Bill Watterson has also been cited. In addition to the Get Cape name, and his given name, Duckworth has released music under the moniker Recreations.

Diane Hutchinson is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Alex Fletcher. In 2010, Hollyoaks series producer, Paul Marquess, embarked on the show's rejuvenation and axed a number of cast members. To compensate for the departures, the character of Diane and her family were created and introduced. Fletcher's casting was announced in June 2010 and she began filming her scenes in the same month. The actress said working on the show is practical as she does not have to relocate. She made her first on-screen appearance on 1 September 2010. Diane was introduced with her husband, Rob and stepchildren, Sinead and Finn. The O'Connors were one of three families introduced throughout the year.

G-Man is an all-ages comic book or graphic novel written and illustrated by Chris Giarrusso and published by Image Comics. The comic has been published in the form of back-ups in other comic books as well as original one-shots and trade paperback collections. The comic features a young superhero who gains the powers of super strength, super endurance and flight when he wears a magic cape. G-Man and his friends were introduced in Giarrusso's "Comic Bits", published in Image's Savage Dragon series. There are two G-Man collections: Learning to Fly and Cape Crisis. The first volume, Learning to Fly, was published in 2009 by Image Comics. The second novel, Cape Crisis, was published in 2010. The character G-MAN previously made small appearances in the Savage Dragon series.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ash Kane</span> UK soap opera character, created 2011

Ash Kane is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Holly Weston. Ash debuted on-screen on 28 September 2011. Weston attended a late audition for the role and was later told she had secured the part. Weston was signed to the serial on an initial six-month contract which was later extended by impressed producers.
