Lietuvos krepšinio lyga, also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier professional men's club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague.
Tom Lund is a former Norwegian football coach and striker. He played his entire career at Norwegian club Lillestrøm, taking them from the third division to the first and winning the Double. He never played professionally, despite receiving offers from big international clubs. He is widely considered one of the greatest Norwegian football players of all time.

Kęstutis Navickas is a badminton player from Lithuania. He competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Navickas was the bronze medalist at the 2015 Baku European Games in the men's singles event. Currently Navickas serves as Head of Coaches Council in Lithuanian Badminton Federation.
Feliks “Papa” Stamm was a prominent Polish boxing coach. He is widely regarded as the father of Polish boxing, and the creator of the so-called Polish school of boxing. To commemorate him, since 1977 annual Feliks Stamm Boxing Tournament takes place in Warsaw. In 1987, the tournament was won by Lennox Lewis.
Danas Pozniakas was a Lithuanian amateur light-heavyweight boxer who won the European title in 1965, 1967 and 1969 and an Olympic gold medal in 1968.
The Russian Federation competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, China, represented by the Russian Olympic Committee. Russia competed in all sports except baseball, field hockey, football, softball, and taekwondo. It ranked third in the medal table by the number of gold (24) and overall (60) medals. Russia also had 14 medals stripped for doping violations, the most of any nation at the 2008 Olympics, although in terms of gold medals it got a net positive of +1.

Mindaugas Griškonis is a former Lithuanian rower. Competing in the single sculls he won six medals at the European and world championships between 2007 and 2015, including three European gold medals. He placed eighth at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, before getting his first Olympic medal in the double scull event in 2016, a silver with Saulius Ritter.
Algirdas Šocikas was a Lithuanian amateur heavyweight boxer who won the European title in 1953 and 1955 and finished fifth at the 1952 Olympics. He won six Soviet, six Lithuanian and three Baltic championships. After retiring in 1957 he worked as a boxing coach in Kaunas and raised the Olympic medalists Ričardas Tamulis and Jonas Čepulis, among others. He died in Kaunas, aged 84, and was buried in Petrašiūnai Cemetery.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas is a Lithuanian professional basketball player and the vice-captain for AEK Athens of the Greek Basketball League (GBL) and the Basketball Champions League (BCL). He also represents the Lithuanian national team in international competition. He is 2.05 m tall, and he can play at both the small forward and power forward positions.
Mindaugas Sadauskas is a Lithuanian swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He is a multiple-time Lithuanian champion, who represented his country at the FINA World Championships, LEN European Championships and other international competition. Sadauskas also represented Lithuania at the London Olympic Games in 2012. He has seven national level records at the moment. Sadauskas is also a member of the swimming team for SMU Mustangs at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Sadauskas achieved multiple gold medals at the Conference USA while studying at the SMU.
Mindaugas Ežerskis is a three-time Olympic wrestler from Lithuania, who competed for the heavyweight division and wrestling coach. He also won the bronze medal for his category at the 2005 European Wrestling Championships in Varna, Bulgaria, and silver at the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, losing out to Georgia's Ramaz Nozadze.
Mindaugas Šliūpas (1919–1979) was a Lithuanian basketball player. He won a gold medal with the Lithuania national basketball team during EuroBasket 1939. He played one game against Finland and scored no points.
Sander Sagosen is a Norwegian professional handball player for Kolstad Håndball and the Norwegian national team. At club level, he has won major titles in four countries, including league championships in Norway, Denmark, France and Germany. With the national team, Sagosen placed second at the World Championship in 2017 and 2019, and finished third at the 2020 European Championship. Sagosen was included on the All-Star team for five consecutive major international competitions as either best centre back or left back.

Nikolai Terteryan is an Armenian-born Danish boxer. He won the gold medal in the light middleweight event the 2023 European Games in Kraków, which qualified him for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
