The Minister of Labour and Immigration of the Canadian province of Manitoba is a member of the Executive Council of Manitoba, which is informally known as the Cabinet. This position was formerly known as the Minister of Labour. The Current Minister of Labour and Immigration is Malaya Marcelino. [1]
From January 13, 2012, to October 18, 2013, the responsibilities of this portfolio were redistributed between the Minister of Family Services and Labour and the Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism.

It is the provincial wing of the federal New Democratic Party, and is a successor to the Manitoba Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. It is currently the governing party in Manitoba.

He was a long-serving member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, and was a long-time cabinet minister in the New Democratic Party governments led by premiers Gary Doer and Greg Selinger. Ashton was eliminated from the race, after finishing last on the first ballot at the 2015 NDP leadership convention. Selinger was re-elected party leader on the second ballot.
