The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries or simply the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA or MoA) is a government ministry of Kenya. Its head office is in the Kilimo House in Nairobi. [1]
Animal husbandry is the branch of agriculture concerned with animals that are raised for meat, fibre, milk, or other products. It includes day-to-day care, selective breeding, and the raising of livestock. Husbandry has a long history, starting with the Neolithic Revolution when animals were first domesticated, from around 13,000 BC onwards, predating farming of the first crops. By the time of early civilisations such as ancient Egypt, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs were being raised on farms.
Thomas Joseph Odhiambo Mboya was a Kenyan trade unionist, educator, Pan-Africanist, author, independence activist, and statesman. He was one of the founding fathers of the Republic of Kenya. He led the negotiations for independence at the Lancaster House Conferences and was instrumental in the formation of Kenya's independence party – the Kenya African National Union (KANU) – where he served as its first Secretary-General. He laid the foundation for Kenya's capitalist and mixed economy policies at the height of the Cold War and set up several of the country's key labour institutions.
Bruce Roy McKenzie EGH was a South African-born Kenyan politician. He was the Minister of Agriculture in Kenya during the presidency of Jomo Kenyatta, to whom he was an adviser. He is alleged to have been an agent for British, South African or Israeli intelligence by various people. He was assassinated on the orders of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin.

Frederick Ian Bantubano Kayanja is a Ugandan veterinarian, academic, and academic administrator. He has been the chancellor of Gulu University, a public institution of higher education, since October 2014, replacing Martin Aliker. He is a former vice chancellor of the Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He assumed that position in 1989 and stepped down in October 2014. Before that, he served as the deputy vice chancellor of Makerere University, the oldest and largest public university in Uganda.

Willy Kipkorir Bett Born on April 14, 1963, is a Kenyan politician and the current Kenyan Ambassador to India. He is the former Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries. He held the post from December 2015 to January 26, 2018. Prior to this, he was the managing director of the Kenya Seed Company. He vastly improved the company's standing, taking revenue from 2.9 billion KES to 5.0 billion KES, and profit from 50 million KES to 434 million KES. Before that, he was a marketing manager at the Kenyan Postbank for 18 years. He holds an MBA from the University of Nairobi.
Charles Karuga Koinange (1920-2004), the son of a prominent colonial Kikuyu chief, served as key colonial chief in Central Kenya during the 1950s. After Kenya's independence in 1963, Charles Karuga served as a District Commissioner and Provincial Commissioner in the independent Republic of Kenya. As a leading member of the prominent Koinange family, Charles Karuga Koinange held a prominent role in late colonial developments in Central Kenya, as well as politics in Central Kenya following Kenya's independence.
Prof. Moses Kipng'eno Rugutt is a Kenyan Research Scientist and the immediate former Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation Prof. Rugutt was appointed to the position in 2014 having served in other senior positions in the Government of Kenya.
