The Ministry of Urban Development ("Ministria e Zhvillimit Urban " or "MZHU") was a department of the Albanian Government responsible for urban planning, development, housing and legalization of informal settlements. The last serving minister was Eglantina Gjermeni of the Socialist Party. [2] [3]
Tirana is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year.
Transport in Albania consists of transport by land, water and air, which are predominantly under the supervision of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Albania. The development and improvement of the transport in the country remains among the most important priorities of the Government of Albania.
A slum is a highly populated urban residential area consisting of densely packed housing units of weak build quality. The infrastructure in slums is often deteriorated or incomplete, and they are primarily inhabited by impoverished people. Although slums are usually located in urban areas, in some countries they can be located in suburban areas where housing quality is low and living conditions are poor. While slums differ in size and other characteristics, most lack reliable sanitation services, supply of clean water, reliable electricity, law enforcement, and other basic services. Slum residences vary from shanty houses to professionally built dwellings which, because of poor-quality construction or lack of basic maintenance, have deteriorated.
Tirana County, officially the County of Tirana, is a county in the Central Region of the Republic of Albania. It is the tenth largest by area and the most populous of the twelve counties, with more than 912,000 people within an area of 1,652 km2 (638 sq mi). The county borders on the Adriatic Sea to the west, the counties of Durrës to the northwest, Dibër to the northeast, Elbasan to the east and Fier to the southwest. It is divided into five municipalities, Tirana, Kamëz, Kavajë, Rrogozhinë and Vorë, with all of whom incorporate twenty-nine administrative units.

The Llogara National Park is a national park centered on the Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Riviera in Southwestern Albania, spanning an surface area of 1,010 ha (10.1 km2). The park's terrain includes large alpine meadows, vertical rock faces, precipices and dense forests. The most area of land is covered by forests and was established in 1966 to protect several ecosystems and biodiversity of national importance. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has listed the park as Category II. The region has been recognised as an important Bird and Plant Area, because it support significant numbers of various bird and plant species.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is a department of the Albanian Government in charge of regulation of the economic activity in the agricultural sector of the country with a purpose of increasing the sector's production capacity.
The Ministry of Economy was a department of the Albanian government responsible for the Economy, Tourism and Enterprise in Albania.
The municipality of Gjilan is in the Anamorava Macroregion of Kosovo, with 42 villages a part of it. Due to the overall increase in economic development, Gjilan has become a known administrative, commercial and industrial region. Territory of Gjilan's municipality currently has an area of 391 km with approximately 130,000 residents. The entire territory owns about 24,230 hectares of farmland, from which 18,224 hectares are considered to be agricultural land which produce a variety of traditional crops. Gjilan is well posiitoned geographically as an administrative unit. Automobile highways roads permit good communication and movement of goods and people, connecting with Prishtina, Vitia, Ferizaj, Kamenica, Bujanovac, and other centers of Kosovo. Thus, Gjilan was and is an important strategic center that has an economic impact to the region. Natural resources in the region have been exploited since the Middle Ages. Notable resources include potassium, magnesium, and the thermal mineral water, or hot springs.
Ferizaj is a city and municipality in southern Kosovo, located 38 kilometers (24 mi) south of the capital city, Pristina. Ferizaj is the third most populated city in Kosovo, after Pristina and Prizren. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous district. The central city postal code is 70 000, and the currency is euro (€).
Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities (MOHUUC) is the Egyptian ministry responsible for the construction, and infrastructure of urban communities and utilities. Its headquarters are located in Cairo and Mostafa Madbouli has served as minister since 2014. This ministry works in affiliation with the New Urban Communities Authority.

The motorways are characterised as roads with at least two lanes in each driving direction including an emergency lane and a maximum allowed speed limit of not less than 110 kilometres per hour (68 mph).
The COVID-19 pandemic in Albania is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The first case in the Republic of Albania was reported in Tirana on 8 March 2020, when a patient and his adult son who had come from Florence, Italy tested positive. Both men later recovered.
Squatting in Sudan is defined as the "Acquisition and construction of land, within the city boundaries for the purpose of housing in contradiction to Urban Planning and Land laws and building regulations." These informal settlements arose in Khartoum from the 1920s onwards, swelling in the 1960s. By the 1980s, the government was clearing settlements in Khartoum and regularizing them elsewhere. It was estimated that in 2015 that were 200,000 squatters in Khartoum, 180,000 in Nyala, 60,000 in Kassala, 70,000 in Port Sudan and 170,000 in Wad Madani.
The Ministry of Public Works was a department of the Albanian government in the early beginnings of the newly formed Albanian State. Established as an institution since the first provisional government of Ismail Qemali, on December 4, 1912, the ministry would play an important role in later governments and continued to function even after the war until it was broken up into several ministries, starting with the Hoxha III Cabinet. Its status would briefly reemerge in 1996 during the Meksi II Government and lasting until 2002. The ministry was tasked with supervising construction projects, the maintenance of roads, bridges, state buildings and general utilities infrastructure.
