Miquel de Palol i Muntanyola (born April 2, 1953) is a Catalan architect, poet and storyteller, son of the archaeologist Pere de Palol.
In 2011 he was appointed president of the Association of Collegiate Writers of Catalonia. His first novel in Catalan, El jardí dels set crepuscles (The Garden of Seven Twilights), earned in the year of its publication (1989) almost all the prizes available for works in Catalan language. [1]
Born in Barcelona, he lived in Valladolid until he was 17, due to his father's job. Back in Barcelona, he studied Architecture and began his literary activity as a poet. In 1982 he won the Carles Riba poetry award with El porxo de les mirades. For this same work he received, in 1984, the Critica Serra d'Or award. [2]
His first novel published in Catalan, El jardí dels set crepuscles, earned in the year of its publication (1989) almost all the prizes awarded in the Catalan language (Joan Crexells, Crítica Serra d'Or, National of the Criticism and National Literature of the Generalitat of Catalonia, as well as the Critical Eye Award). In 1994 he received the Ciutat de Barcelona award in the Catalan language for Igur Neblí. In 1997 he won the Josep Pla award for the play El legislador and the Víctor Català award for Tales for old teenagers. In 1998 he won the Sant Jordi award for Novel with El quincorn. [3]
His narrative production moves between the fantastic and legendary story and philosophical speculation. It has been translated into Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, and English. [4] Palol has also written widely on the subject of Catalan culture in the age of globalization. [5]
Maria Mercè Marçal i Serra was a Catalan poet, professor, writer and translator from Spain.
Joan-Lluís Lluís is a Catalan writer. His works include five novels and a collection of essays entitled Conversa amb el meu gos sobre França i els francesos. This last work, which Lluís himself describes as a pamphlet, focuses on the precarious linguistic situation of the Catalans under French administration.

Pau Riba was a Spanish author and Mallorquín versatile artist. Riba was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain on 7 August 1948. He started working during the 60s in the context of the counterculture. Riba died from pancreatic cancer on 6 March 2022, at the age of 73.

Baltasar's first novel, Permafrost, received the 2018 Catalan Booksellers Award and it has sold the translation rights to six languages.
The Ramon Llull Award is an honor awarded annually by the Government of the Balearic Islands to persons or entities of the Balearic Islands that have excelled in any field. It was established in 1997 by Decree 3/2014.
The Ramon Llull Novel Award is an honor given annually to a novel originally written in Catalan. Conceived in 1981 by editor José Manuel Lara Hernández, it is awarded by the Planeta publishing house in conjunction with the Government of Andorra. It confers a monetary prize, originally 250,000 pesetas and now €60,000. It recognizes works of the greatest economic value in the Catalan language.
Miquel Bauçà Rosselló was a Mallorcan poet and writer in the Catalan language. His poems have appeared in most contemporary Catalan poetry anthologies. He was recognized as a talented poet from a young age with Una bella història (1962). Bauçà wrote poetry and narrative work, contained in the publication of El Canvi (1998), the highlight of his work and the beginning of a poetic-encyclopedic project that deepened his later works. He died in late 2004, in solitude; his body was discovered in early 2005.
The Carles Riba Poetry Prize is a literary prize for Catalan-language works awarded by the Edicions Proa publishing house with funding by the Catalan Encyclopedia Foundation. The winning poem is selected from original, unpublished poems during the Literary Night of Saint Lucía, organized by the Òmnium Cultural association. It has an endowment of €5,000.
