Mir Ubaidullah Gorgage is a Pakistani politician from Quetta District. He served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from February 2024 to October 2024.
He contested the 2024 Balochistan provincial election as a Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians candidate from PB-44 Quetta-VII constituency. He secured 7125 votes while his runner-up was Atta Muhammad Bungalzai of National Party who secured 6385 votes. [1] [2] [3]
In May 2024,Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti appointed him as a parliamentary secretary. [4]
In October 2024,an election tribunal led by Justice Abdullah Baloch of the Balochistan High Court cancelled the victory notification of Gorgage and declared the seat vacant. Following an election petition filed by the National Party candidate Atta Muhammad,the tribunal directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct repolling at 16 polling stations within the constituency. Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi was the 20th governor of Balochistan Province since 28 February 2008 to 9 June 2013 as well as the chief executive of Balochistan since 14 January 2013. He is the Nawab and Tumandar of the Magsi Tribe,a former governor and a former chief executive of Balochistan,a senior politician and the former chief minister of Balochistan province in the Benazir Bhutto government of 1993–1996. Nawab was appointed as the chief executive of Balochistan on 13 January 2013 after the sacking of Aslam Raisani's unpopular government and imposition of Governor's Rule. It was the main after effect of the January 2013 Pakistan bombings. Nawab Magsi did his schooling from Aitchison College,Lahore. He first came to politics in 1977,when he won as an independent candidate seat from his native constituency in the provincial assembly. However,his family was involved in Balochistan politics before Pakistani independence. He served in many provincial ministries and also worked in the Home Ministry in the 1990s. In 1993,his coalition won majority of seats and he became Chief Minister of Balochistan.
Sardar Mohammad Saleh Bhootani is a Pakistani politician who belongs to a small town Dureji which is located in Lasbela District,Balouchistan. He was the Provincial Minister of Balochistan for Local Government and Rural Development,in office from 8 September 2018 til 12 August 2023. On 2 November 2023,the Election Commission of Pakistan announced,in agreement with the President of Pakistan,Arif Alvi,that the elections will be held on 8 February 2024. This election will be held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections.
