Mircea Fulger (born 26 January 1959) is a retired light-welterweight boxer from Romania who won a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics. He also won two national senior titles. Fulger retired in December 1984 to become a boxing coach and international referee. [2]
Romania competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. 124 competitors, 71 men and 53 women, took part in 86 events in 13 sports. Notably, Romania was the only Eastern Bloc nation to participate at these Games; all others followed the Soviet Union's boycott of the Games. The Romanian athletes were greeted with warm applause and even a standing ovation from the spectators as they entered the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the opening ceremony, in part an affirmation of the nation's defiance of the boycott. The Romanian Olympic team was phenomenally successful at the games, ultimately placing second to the United States in the gold medal tally.

Mircea Frăţică is a Romanian retired middleweight judoka who won the European title in 1982. Frăţică also won bronze medals at the 1980 European Championships, 1983 World Championships and 1984 Olympics. Between 1976 and 1985 was coached by Clubul Sportiv Nitramonia Fagaras founder and coach, Gheorghe (Gelu) Gujbă, under whose direction he marked the above achievements. Frătică later joined Nitramonia Fagaras as a coach alongside Gujbă before moving on to Liberty Oradea where his team won the 1999 European Cup Championship.
Dhawee Umponmaha, known in Muay Thai as Kaopong Sitichuchai, is a Thai retired Muay Thai fighter and amateur boxer. He was a Lumpinee Stadium champion and won a silver medal in boxing at the 1984 Summer Olympics at Light Welterweight. He was the second Thai athlete to win a medal at the Summer Olympics, following Payao Poontarat at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He also holds the distinction of being the only fighter to have defeated the legendary Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn in Muay Thai rules by knockout.
Clarence Hill is a Bermudian retired boxer. At the 1976 Summer Olympics he won a bronze medal in the Heavyweight division, making Hill the first athlete from Bermuda to win an Olympic medal, and the only one until 2021.
Daniel Dumitrescu is a retired Romanian boxer who won silver medals at the 1988 Olympics and 1989 European Amateur Boxing Championships. In 1989 he fled from Romania to Greece and then to Germany, where he stayed for one year. In 1993 he turned professional and retired in 1997 with a record of five victories and two losses.

He retired in 1981, and after receiving a degree in physical education worked as a boxing coach at his native club CS Progresul Brăila.
Terence "Terry" George Spinks MBE was an English boxer, who won the gold medal in the flyweight division at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. In the final he defeated Mircea Dobrescu of Romania on points. He was also British featherweight champion from 1960 to 1961.
