Hermina Johanna van der Hoeven-Jansen (better known as Mirna van der Hoeven, born 8 May 1948) is a retired sprinter from the Netherlands. At the 1968 Summer Olympics, she finished second in the 400 m in the semifinal, setting her career record at 52.69 seconds. However, she slowed down to 53.0 s in the final and finished last. [1] The same year she won the Amateur Athletic Association of England Championships in the same event. [2]

Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Lidl–Trek. Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. Jan van der Hoeven was a Dutch zoologist. His most famous book is Handboek der Dierkunde (1827–1833), translated into German and English. He wrote as readily about crocodiles as about butterflies, lancelets and lemurs. His research on the nautilus resulted in the discovery of a secondary sexual organ of unknown function which was then named after him as Hoeven's organ or Van der Hoeven's organ.
