Miske is an Ecuadorean distilled alcoholic beverage made from the sap of agave plants. [1]
Miske is similar to Mexican mezcal, but is made from the sap, called chawarmishki in Ecuador (Quechua chawar "raw" + mishki "sweet", whence the name "miske"), rather than the cooked heart (piña), which is used in mezcal.
Agave sap (chawarmishki, called aguamiel in Mexico) has been harvested for centuries by the indigenous people of Ecuador, specifically Agave americana (called maguey in Mexico). Among other uses, it has been spontaneously fermented using wild yeasts to make guarango (Quechua; Mexican pulque ). Around 1970, people began to distill this, producing an agave liquor. This began to be commercialized in the 2010s, and the name "miske" was coined by Diego Mora, [2] though some producers prefer the term "Andean agave". At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021 competition, two miskes were awarded a gold medal (Casa Agave Silver and Reposado). [2] [3] As of 2021 [update] , miske is not widely producers or consumed in Ecuador, but producers hope to imitate the success of tequila, making miske Ecuador's national drink, and popularizing it first in the United States, then in Ecuador. Santiago de Tequila is a Mexican town and municipality located in the state of Jalisco about 60 km from the city of Guadalajara. Tequila is best known as being the birthplace of the drink that bears its name, “tequila,” which is made from the blue agave plant, native to this area. The heart of the plant contains sugars and had been used by native peoples here to make a fermented drink. After the Spanish arrived, they took this fermented beverage and distilled it, producing the tequila known today. The popularity of the drink and the history behind it has made the town and the area surrounding it a World Heritage Site. It was also named a "Pueblo Mágico" in 2003 by the Mexican federal government.
Sotol is a distilled spirit from the Chihuahuan desert sourced from the family of Asparagaceae; the genus Dasylirion and several species, most commonly: Dasylirion wheeleri, Dasylirion durangense, Dasylirion cedrosanum, and Dasylirion leiophyllum, less commonly with Dasylirion texanum and Dasylirion lucidum, a plant that grows in the Chihuahua desert of northern Mexico, New Mexico, Arizona, and west and central Texas. Sotol liquor is a Mexican drink that is known as the state spirit of Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila. Sotol has its own appellation of origin since 2002, and may be produced only in Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango. There are dozens of commercial examples available. Production of sotol spirits exists outside the Sotol Denomination of Origin in several regions such as Sonora where it is known as Palmilla, Oaxaca (Cucharillo), and the Texas Hill Country.

El Espolón is a brand of tequila from Campari America. The tequila is produced by the Casa San Nicolas brand in the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, Mexico. It has three products which are Blanco, Reposado and Añejo tequila. Each one is 80 proof or 40% ABV.
Lambanóg is a traditional Filipino distilled coconut palm liquor. It is derived from tubâ made from coconut sap that has been aged for at least 48 hours. It originates from Luzon and the Visayas Islands. During the Spanish colonial period, it was also known as vino de coco in Spanish. It is also commonly described as "coconut vodka" due to its clear to milky white color and high alcohol content. It is particularly potent, having a typical alcohol content of 80 to 90 proof after a single distillation; this may go as high as 166 proof after the second distillation. Its smoothness has been compared to that of Japanese sake and European schnapps.

It was founded in 1873 when Don Cenobio Sauza started La Perseverancia distillery. Sauza Tequila Import Company is owned by Beam Suntory, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Like the lambanog, it is particularly potent, having a typical alcohol content of 70 to 100 proof after a single distillation.
