Miss Caribbean UK 2014, the inaugural edition of the Miss Caribbean UK pageant, was held on 30 November 2014 at the Tabernacle, Notting Hill in London, UK. Co-founder and pageant director Jacqui Brown crowned her first queen Keeleigh Griffith representing Barbados on the 38th anniversary of the Barbados Independence Act 1966. Eight contestants competed for the crown. [1]

Miss Caribbean UK beauty contest

Miss Caribbean UK is an Afro-Caribbean beauty pageant held in the United Kingdom. It was created by Clayton Brown and Jacqui Brown in 2014. The stated aims of the pageant are to promote, educate, inspire and celebrate the historical and cultural impact of the Caribbean within the United Kingdom. The organisation has adopted the slogan "Positively Promoting the Caribbean"™ aiming to inspire, inform and unite all the different Caribbean countries under one umbrella. The event uses a pageant to promote, educate, inspire and celebrate the historical and cultural impact of the Caribbean within the United Kingdom. By getting this message to our communities in the UK, we hope realise our objective, which is to, Positively promote the Caribbean. Under the patronage of Barrister and TV personality Mr Shaun Wallace, the MCUK Founder’s; Clayton and Jacqui Brown, have expressed that this is set to be The Ultimate Crown for Caribbean Pageants in the UK.

Barbados country in the Caribbean

Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of North America. It is 34 kilometres in length and up to 23 km (14 mi) in width, covering an area of 432 km2 (167 sq mi). It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and 100 km (62 mi) east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea; therein, Barbados is east of the Windwards, part of the Lesser Antilles, roughly at 13°N of the equator. It is about 168 km (104 mi) east of both the countries of Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and 400 km (250 mi) north-east of Trinidad and Tobago. Barbados is outside the principal Atlantic hurricane belt. Its capital and largest city is Bridgetown.

Binibining Pilipinas organization

Binibining Pilipinas is a national beauty pageant in the Philippines that selects Filipina representatives to compete in two of the Big Four major international beauty pageants; namely the Miss Universe and Miss International and selects four other titleholders to participate in minor international pageants such as Miss Supranational, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Grand International and Miss Globe.

Miss South Africa is a national Beauty pageant in South Africa. Traditionally Miss South Africa competed at Miss World until they acquired the franchise of Miss Universe. The winners are sent to both international pageants. The current Miss South Africa is Tamaryn Green from Western Cape. She went on to represent South Africa at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant, where she finished as the first runner-up.

Amy Harris-Willock English athlete, long jumper

Amy Melissa Harris-Willock is an English long jumper of Antiguan descent competing as Amy Harris, and a former titleholder of the pageant Miss Caribbean UK.

The Big Four consists of the four major international beauty pageants for women – Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth. The group was first described by the China Daily newspaper in 2004 as "the world's four major beauty contests", Chosun Ilbo newspaper in 2010 described them as "the world's top four beauty pageants". In 2017, the Latin Times considered the group as the "most important pageants in the world". In 2018, NBC News referred to them as the "four biggest international pageants".

Miss Guyana is the national competition in Guyana where the Titleholder/National Winner represents Guyana at the Miss World competition. Guyana first placed at the Miss World competition in 1966 which was the first of six consecutive placements from semifinalist to top 3 finish from 1966 to 1971.[3] The Miss Guyana trademark is under Natasha Martindale directorship.

Miss World 2015 The 65th edition of the Miss World pageant.

Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the very first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.

Esonica Veira United States Virgin Islands model

Esonica Veira is a Virgin Islander model and beauty queen who won the title of Miss Universe US Virgin Islands 2017 and represented the US Virgin Islands at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant on November 26, 2017 in Las Vegas. Esonica was also appointed to be her territory's representative for Miss Earth 2014. Prior to joining Miss Earth, Esonica already represented her country in the Miss World 2011 pageant held in London, UK. After her Miss World participation, she was once again selected to compete in Miss Supranational 2013 in Minsk, Belarus.

Miss India Worldwide is a beauty pageant which draws contestants from India and from among members of the Indian diaspora residing in other countries. It is conducted by India Festival Committee (IFC), founded and headed by Dharmatma Saran in New York City, USA.

Mireia Lalaguna Spanish model

Mireia Lalaguna Royo is a Spanish actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World Spain 2015 and in December the same year won Miss World 2015 in Sanya. Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her at the end of the event. She is the first Miss World from Spain.

Miss Universe 2015 64th edition of the Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe 2015 was the 64th Miss Universe pageant, held on 20 December 2015 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Paulina Vega of sa crowned her successor Micaela Anastassopoulos of the South Africa at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed for the crown.

Miss Caribbean UK 2015

Miss Caribbean UK 2015, the 2nd edition of the Miss Caribbean UK pageant, was held on 5 December 2015 at the Shaw Theatre in London, UK. Keeleigh Griffith crowned her successor, the Commonwealth long jump athlete Amy Harris-Willock, who was representing Antigua and Barbuda. Sixteen contestants competed for the crown.

Miss Caribbean UK 2016

Miss Caribbean UK 2016, the 3rd edition of the Miss Caribbean UK pageant, was held on 3 December 2016 at the Broadway Theatre in Catford London, UK. Amy Harris-Willock crowned her successor, the model, Jodie Hodgson, who was representing Barbados. Thirteen contestants competed for the crown.
