The Miss Toronto Tourism pageant has been run since 1999. [1] The pageant was formed to revive Miss Toronto pageant [2] that was first run by Toronto Harbour Commissioners from 1926 to 1928, and then by the Amateur Police Athletics Association from 1937 to 1991. [3] However, by that time "Miss Toronto" was registered as a name for a cruise ship company in Toronto, [4] hence the title "Miss Toronto Tourism". It is the only non-ethnic Toronto local beauty pageant. [5] [6]
The title holders attend various charity events across GTA including Rotary Club Charity Auction, [7] Afroglobal TV Excellence awards, [8] parades (Canada day, Santa Claus, St. Patrick Day), and charity walks.

A couple of former Miss Toronto Tourism have been involved in controversies. Alana Kindree, formerly Miss Toronto Tourism 2010, was involved in controversies involving Rob Ford. She was observed partying with a heavily intoxicated Ford on March 17, 2012 -- St Patrick's Day. [9]
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants.
Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth, it is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
Dragon Con is a North American multigenre convention, founded in 1987, which takes place annually over the Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. The Miss Hong Kong Pageant, or Miss HK (港姐) for short, is an annual beauty pageant organised by local Hong Kong television station, TVB. The pageant was established in 1946, and acquired by TVB in 1973.
Shandi Ren Finnessey is an American actress, model, TV host and beauty pageant titleholder. She is best known for winning the Miss USA title, as Miss Missouri USA. She previously held the title of Miss Missouri 2002 and competed in Miss America, where she won a preliminary award. She placed as first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2004 competition.
The Miss Universe Canada or "The Beauties of Canada" is a national beauty pageant in Canada, which sends its winners to the Miss Universe pageant.

The Miss Zimbabwe or is a national Beauty pageant in Zimbabwe. Began in 2023 the organization was branded as Miss Universe Zimbabwe Organization by Tendai Hunda's directorship. The winner is expected to represent the country at Miss Universe competition.

And then she represented Mongolia in the Miss World 2015. On September 26, 2016, she was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International 2016 and awarded Miss Charity. And then December 1, 2016, she has participated first in Goyol 2017 which was organized by Mongolian Designers Association annually was awarded "Photo Model". She worked at Mongolia's Next Top Model show 14th number representing Z24 online ticket reservation through Z24 face.
Anita Kyarimpa better known as Anita Fabiola is a Ugandan actress, tourism ambassador, Event host, business woman, and former beauty queen. In February 2019 she was appointed as a Goodwill Tourism ambassador headlining the "Tulambule" campaign in liaison with the Uganda Tourism Board to promote tourism all over Uganda. Prior to hosting the Be my date show on NTV in 2014, Fabiola became Miss Uganda West and the first runner-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013. She is also known for hosting some of the Africa's biggest red carpet events. These include Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards in Nigeria (2016), Namibia Annual Music Awards, Ghana Movie Awards 2017, Ghana Music Awards 2016, Glitz Awards Ghana 2017, Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2016 among others.
Larissa Ping Liew is a Malaysian model, fashion blogger and beauty pageant titleholder, who was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2018. She represented Malaysia at Miss World 2018 pageant, where she placed in the Top 30.
By the 1990s, with waning popularity and changing attitudes towards such events, the Miss Toronto beauty contest was brought to an end. A revival in beauty pageants has occurred in the early twenty-first century, with events such as Miss Chinese Toronto and Miss Toronto Tourism,
CHIN Picnic Pageant was not the city's first attempt at parading a bevy of beauties...Today, there is also the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant, Miss Tourism Toronto, in addition to Miss Teen Toronto, Miss Universe, Miss Galaxy, Miss Earth and so on.
The organization has decided to do away with one of its main events at the 50th annual CHIN Picnic.
