The right of expatriates to vote in elections in their country of origin varies depending on the legislation of an expatriate's country of origin. Ignacy Posadzy, SChr was a Polish Catholic priest who ministered to Polish migrants from the interwar period, through World War II and during the rule of Communist Poland. At the direction of Cardinal August Hlond, he co-founded an order dedicated to serving Polish migrants, the Society of Christ.
Paweł Kontny SChr was a Polish priest of the Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Society of Christ. During World War II he served as a priest in Lędziny. On 1 February 1945, he was killed by Soviet soldiers while protecting two girls from being kidnapped and raped. The Soviets forced the townspeople to bury Kontny's body in the place where he was killed. Three days later, after the front moved west, the townspeople exhumed Kontny's remains and buried them at the local cemetery. A cause for his beatification is currently being prepared.
Rudolf Marszałek SChr was a Polish priest of the Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Society of Christ. He served a chaplain during World War II, serving in the Home Army and National Armed Forces. As a member of the military arm of the Polish Underground State, he was arrested in December 1946 by the Ministry of Public Security. After spending a year in Mokotów Prison, he was sentenced to death on January 17, 1948, and executed on March 10, 1948.

The Polish Diaspora Day is a public holiday celebrated in Poland on 2 May, to commemorate the Polish diaspora around the world. It was established on 20 March 2002, by the Sejm of Poland, from the incitive of the Senate of Poland. It is celebrated on the same day as the Polish National Flag Day. It takes place a day after the International Workers' Day, and a day before the 3 May Constitution Day.
Stanisław Kostka Starowieyski (1895-1941) was a reserve artillery captain of the Polish Armed Forces, a participant (1918-1920) to the Polish-Ukrainian War and the Polish-Soviet War, a church, social and charitable activist and a papal chamberlain. He died at the concentration camp in Dachau concentration camp and was beatified in 1999.
