Mitchell S. Weiss (born 1957) is an American investigative journalist, and an editor at the Charlotte Observer . He won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting, with Joe Mahr and Michael D. Sallah. [1]

Life

Weiss is a native of New York City. He graduated from Northwestern University with an MS in journalism in 1982. He was an Associated Press reporter in Toledo and Columbus, Ohio. From 1998 to 2005 he worked for The Blade . In 2005, he was deputy business editor of The Charlotte Observer. In 2008, he was correspondent to the Charlotte Bureau of the Associated Press.

Weiss teaches journalism at the University of South Carolina Upstate. [2] [3] He was a finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award in 2009. [4]

Tiger Force was the name of a long-range reconnaissance patrol unit of the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 327th Infantry, 1st Brigade (Separate), 101st Airborne Division, which fought in the Vietnam War from November 1965 to November 1967. In 1999, he won a beat reporting Pulitzer Prize for co-writing a series of articles about corruption in the music industry with Chuck Philips. He won two Gerald Loeb Awards for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism.

Christopher S. Stewart is an American author and investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal, which he joined in 2011. In 2015, he won the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative reporting with several colleagues for a series of articles exposing abuses in the Medicare system.
