The Australia national cricket team represents Australia in men's international cricket. Along with England, it is the joint oldest team in Test cricket history, playing in the first ever Test match in 1877; the team also plays One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket, participating in both the first ODI, against England in the 1970–71 season and the first T20I, against New Zealand in the 2004–05 season, winning both games. The team draws its players from teams playing in the Australian domestic competitions – the Sheffield Shield, the Australian domestic limited-overs cricket tournament and the Big Bash League. Allan Robert Border is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer. A batsman, Border was for many years the captain of the Australian team, and led his team to victory in the 1987 Cricket World Cup, the maiden world title for Australia. His playing nickname was "A.B.". He played 156 Test matches in his career, a record until it was passed by fellow Australian Steve Waugh. Border formerly held the world record for the number of consecutive Test appearances of 153, before it was surpassed in June 2018 by Alastair Cook, and is second on the list of number of Tests as captain.
Makhaya Ntini is a South African former professional cricketer, who played all forms of the game. He was the first black player to play for the South African national cricket team. Ntini was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy, the only ICC trophy the country has won to date.

Mlungisi Bali was a South African rugby union player that played first class rugby for the Griffons in 2013 and 2014, and also represented the South Africa Under-20 at the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship. His regular position was lock.
On 17 November 1985, 2000 residents from Mlungisi township in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, gathered in Nonzwakazi Methodist Church to hear back from the Local Residents Association, who, in early November, had met with the Department of Education and Training, the Queenstown municipality, the Eastern Cape Development Board, and the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce to discuss the end of the consumer boycott. The meeting was short-lived as members of the Queenstown branch of the South African Police stormed into the meeting and opened fire on the residents. In the ensuing conflict between police and residents, 14 people were shot dead and 22 were injured. This incident is known as the 1985 Queenstown Massacre.

Gerald Mlungisi Mvoko is a South African businessman and politician who was elected deputy provincial chairperson of the African National Congress in the Eastern Cape in October 2017. In February 2018, he was sworn in as a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature. He became the member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Human Settlements in May 2018 before being moved to the Education portfolio in November of the same year. Mvoko became the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Environmental Affairs in May 2019 and served in the position until May 2024, when he was appointed MEC for Finance.
