James Yuille McLean was a Scottish football player, manager and director. He managed Dundee United between 1971 and 1993, becoming the longest-serving and most successful manager in the club's history, winning three major honours. He was also part-time assistant manager to Jock Stein with the Scotland national team.
John 'Jerry' Kerr was a Scottish football player and manager, best known as manager of Dundee United from 1959 to 1971. He is credited with taking the club from third bottom of the Scottish League to being an established side in the Scottish top tier. He became the first manager of a British club to win a competitive game in Spain when United won home and away against F.C. Barcelona in the 1966-67 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
Alan John Gilzean was a Scottish professional footballer, active from 1955 to 1975. A striker, Gilzean played most prominently for Dundee and Tottenham Hotspur, and also appeared in 22 international games for Scotland. He helped Dundee win the Scottish league championship in 1961–62 and Tottenham win the FA Cup in 1967, two League Cups and the 1971–72 UEFA Cup. He died on 8 July 2018 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Alphonse Marie Tchami Djomaha is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a striker. At international level, he represented Cameroon at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups.
Finn Døssing Jensen was a Danish footballer who played as a centre forward. He began his career with Viborg FF and represented the Denmark under-21 team before joining Dundee United in 1964. He scored 76 goals in 115 appearances for the Scottish club before returning to Denmark to finish his career with Aalborg BK. He was inducted into the Dundee United Hall of Fame in 2008.

The 1964 Danish 1st Division was the 37th season of Denmark's top-flight association football division since the establishment of Danmarksturneringen's nation-wide league structure in 1927, and the 51st edition of the overall Danish national football championship since its inception in 1912. Governed by the Danish FA, the season was launched on 26 March 1964 with a clash between last season's third-placed B 1903 and Østerbro-based and local rivals B.93 with the last round of six matches concluding on 15 November 1964. Esbjerg fB were the defending league champions, having won their third consecutive league title last season, while BK Frem and B.93 entered as promoted teams from the 1963 Danish 2nd Division. Fixtures for the 1964 season were announced by the Danish FA's tournament committee on 6 January 1964, featuring a nine weeks long summer break.
Dundee United F.C. is a Scottish football club based in Dundee. Formed on 24 May 1909 as Dundee Hibernian, the club first joined the Scottish Football League (SFL) in 1910. After changing their name to Dundee United in 1923, the club were promoted to the top division of Scottish football for the first time in 1925, but spent most of its first thirty five years in the second tier.
