Mohammad Ahmad Muslim Al Khalayleh (born 1967) [1] is the Jordanian Minister of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places. He was appointed as minister on 7 November 2019. [2] [3] [4]
Islam is the dominant religion in Egypt,with approximately 90% of Egyptians identifying as Muslims. The majority of Egyptian Muslims are adherents of Sunni Islam,while a small minority adhere to Shia Islam. Since 1980,Islam has served as Egypt's state religion. Due to the lack of a religious census,owing to the alleged undercounting of non-Muslim minorities in Egyptian censuses,the actual percentage of Muslims is unknown;the percentage of Egyptian Christians,who are the second-largest religious group in the country,is estimated to be between 6% and 11% of the population.
The Supreme Muslim Council was the highest body in charge of Muslim community affairs in Mandatory Palestine under British control. It was established to create an advisory body composed of Muslims and Christians with whom the High Commissioner could consult. The Muslim leaders,however,sought to create an independent council to supervise the religious affairs of its community,especially in matters relating to religious trusts (waqf) and shariah courts. The British acceded to these proposals and formed the SMC which controlled waqf funds,the orphan funds,and shariah courts,and responsible for appointing teachers and preachers. The SMC continued to exist until January 1951,when it was dissolved by Jordan and its function transferred to the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf.
The Islamic Action Front is an Islamist political party in Jordan. It is the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan.
Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad is a Jordanian prince and a professor of philosophy. He is the son of Prince Muhammad bin Talal of Jordan and his first wife,Princess Firyal. He is a grandson of King Talal of Jordan and thus a first cousin of King Abdullah II and sixteenth in the line of succession to the Jordanian throne. The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department,also known as the Jerusalem Waqf,the Jordanian Waqf or simply the Waqf,is the Jordanian-appointed organization responsible for controlling and managing the current Islamic edifices on the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the Old City of Jerusalem,known to Jews as the Temple Mount,which includes the Dome of the Rock. He was a member of the Islamic Action Front,the political wing of Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood,and served on the party's Sharia Ulema Committee. He was described as an Islamist.

Hashemite custodianship refers to the Jordanian royal family's role in tending Muslim and Christian holy sites in the city of Jerusalem. The legacy traces back to 1924 when the Supreme Muslim Council,the highest Muslim body in charge of Muslim community affairs in Mandatory Palestine,chose Hussein bin Ali as custodian of Al-Aqsa. The custodianship became a Hashemite legacy administered by consecutive Jordanian kings.

A new Council of Ministers was formed by Hussein Arnous at the appointment of President Bashar al-Assad. This government was the 94th since Syria gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1918 and was the seventh during the presidency of President Bashar al-Assad.
The second government of Hussein Arnous was formed after appointment by the President of Syria on 10 August 2021 and took the oath of office on 14 August 2021,after the presidential election held in May. This replaced the caretaker ministry formed in July. The government is the 95th since Syria gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1918 and is the eighth during the presidency of Bashar al-Assad.
