Mohammad Sharif Husain was a Bangladeshi educationist, philanthropist, and a recipient of the Ekushey Padak.
Husain was born on 1 January 1934 in Khorki, Jessore Town, Jessore District, East Bengal, British Raj. In 1949, he graduated from Jessore Zilla School. In 1953 he completed his B.A. from Michael Madhusudan College. In 1956, he completed his M.A. in the Department of Islamic History and Culture at the University of Dhaka. [1]
Husain was part of the Bengali Language Movement from 1948 to 1952. From 1956 to 1967 he served as the Secretary of Awami League. He started a book fair in 1967 in Jessore. From 1962 to 1975, he was a lecturer at Michael Madhusudan College. In 1971, during the Bangladesh Liberation war he was arrested and sentenced to death by the Pakistan military. [1]
He was released after the Independence of Bangladesh. From 1975 to 1983, he was a professor at Brajalal College. From 1963 to 1983, he was the secretary of the Jessore Institute Public Library. He collected books which he donated to the library. From 1989 to 1990, he was the Principal of Michael Madhusudan College, retiring in 1991. [1]
Husain founded a number of schools, Anjuman-e-khalequia orphanage, and Lillah Trust in Jessore. Anjuman-e-khalequia orphanage was built on his donated land. In 1994, he founded the nonprofit Sandipan. He founded a day care centre for domestic workers in Dhaka.
He also set up Ad-Din foundation in 1980 in Jessore District with Sheikh Akijuddin. The charity runs a hospital, women's medical college, orphanages, and social programs like HIV awareness.
He was awarded the Ekushey Padak by the government of Bangladesh for his philanthropic work. [1]

Ahmed Sharif was an educationist, philosopher, critic, writer and scholar of medieval Bengali literature. He is recognized as one of the most outspoken atheist and radical thinkers of Bangladesh.
Neelima Ibrahim was a Bangladeshi educationist, littérateur and social worker. She is well known for her scholarship on Bengali literature but even more so for her depiction of raped and tortured women in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War in her book Ami Birangana Bolchi. She was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1969, Begum Rokeya Padak in 1996 and Ekushey Padak in 2000 by the Government of Bangladesh for her contributions to Bangla literature.
Dhaka College is the oldest secular educational institution of Bangladesh located in New Market, Dhaka 1205. It offers higher secondary education (HSC). It has Honours and Masters programs as well which are affiliated to the University of Dhaka.
Syed Ali Ahsan was a Bangladeshi poet, writer and university academic. He was awarded Ekushey Padak (1982) and Independence Day Award (1987) by the Government of Bangladesh. In 1987, he was selected as the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was credited as the official English translator of the National Anthem of Bangladesh.

Mohammad Nurul Huda is a Bangladeshi poet and novelist. Currently Huda is serving as the Director General of Bangla Academy from 12 July 2021.He has written more than fifty poetry books. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2015. Huda was born to Mohammad Sekander and Anjuman Ara Begum in Poak Khali of Cox's Bazar district, Bangladesh on 30 September 1949.
Sardar Jainuddin was a Bangladeshi novelist. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1967 and Ekushey Padak in 1994 posthumously.
Sheikh Abdullah Al Muti Sharafuddin, mostly known as "Abdullah Al Muti" was a Bangladeshi educationalist and science writer. He wrote tough scientific ideas in an easy fashion suitable for children and teenagers. He became first Bangladeshi writer to win the UNESCO Kalingo Prize in 1983. He had earned major national awards - Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1975, Ekushey Padak in 1985 and Independence Day Award in 1995.
Abu Zafar Obaidullah (1934–2001) was a Bangladeshi poet. Two of his long poems, Aami-Kingbodontir-Kathaa Bolchi and Bristi O Shahosi Purush-er Jonyo Pranthona, have become famous since their first publication in the late 1970s.
Khan Ataur Rahman was a Bangladeshi film actor, director, producer, screenplay writer, music composer, and singer, best known for his role in the film Jibon Theke Neya (1970). He received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the films Sujon Sokhi (1975) and Danpite Chhele (1980). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2003 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Michael Madhusudan College, in Jessore District, is one of the largest educational institutions in Khulna Division, Bangladesh. The college is named after famed educationalist and intellectual Michael Madhusudan Dutt. It has about 26,000 students and 19 faculties. It gives four years bachelor's and one years master's course opportunities under Bangladesh National University. The college also offers Higher Secondary subjects including science, commerce, and arts under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore.

Khan Mohammad Moinuddin was a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1978 by the Government of Bangladesh. He is most remembered for being a children's poet in the 1950s and '60s.
