Borzuya was a Persian physician in the late Sasanian era, at the time of Khosrow I. He translated the Indian Panchatantra from Sanskrit into Pahlavi. Both his translation and the original Sanskrit version he worked from are lost. Before their loss, however, his Pahlavi version was translated into Arabic by Ibn al-Muqaffa under the title of Kalila wa-Dimna or The Fables of Bidpai and became the greatest prose of Classical Arabic. The book contains fables in which animals interact in complex ways to convey teachings to princes in policy.

Abu Bakr Rabee Ibn Ahmad Al-Akhawyni Bokhari was a Persian physician and surgeon the author of the Hidayat al-Muta`allemin Fi al-Tibb, the oldest document in the history of Iranian Traditional Medicine (ITM). He lived during the Golden Age of Iranian-Islamic medicine and his book was used as a reference text for medical students long after his death. Al-Akhawyni Bokhari wrote about anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, signs, symptoms, treatment of the disease and surgery of tumors, urine stones, eyes, knee, bones, ... his time. His reputation was based on the treatment of patients with mental illnesses.

His full name is Majid Luke Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, but he changed it to avoid confusing casting directors. Jerdy is best known for his portrayal of Jesse Donovan in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, a role in which he played regularly from April 2016 until January 2020. He also won one of the bronze medals in this event at the 2016 World Karate Championships held in Linz, Austria.
