The Egyptian Armed Forces are the state military organisation responsible for the defense of Egypt. They consist of the Egyptian Army, Egyptian Navy, Egyptian Air Force and Egyptian Air Defense Forces.
John William Vessey Jr. was a career officer in the United States Army. He attained the rank of general, and is most notable for his service as the tenth Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Abdul Munim Riad was a general and chief of staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Riad commanded the Jordanian forces in the 1967 Six-Day War and later commanded Egyptian forces in the War of Attrition, during which he was killed along with several of his aides in 1969.
The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), also known as PMA Kakul, is a two-year accredited federal service academy in Kakul near Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Military Academy is similar in function to Sandhurst, Saint-Cyr, and West Point, and provides training to the officers of Pakistan Army and Allied countries. The academy has four training battalions, and 16 companies. Approximately 2,000 invited guests from over 34 countries tour the facility each year. Many close allies of Pakistan send their own cadets and officers to receive premier training in modern military doctrine at PMA.On July 22, 2015 the COAS inaugurated the incoming 4th battalion for training.

Ibrahim Tannous was a former commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces. General Tannous earned a reputation for honesty and was seen as “a general willing to get his uniform dirty to build a fighting Lebanese Army,” in the words of one Arab authority. Gen. Tannous took over command of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in December 1982, during the early years of the civil war and oversaw joint operations with the Multinational Force that was in charge of training LAF forces and restoring order to Beirut. Gen. Tannous, who is close to President Gemayel, resigned his post as armed forces commander in June 1984 as a concession to government's opposition factions who were calling for restructuring the army and was succeeded by Michel Aoun. Until Gen. Tannous' resignation, the army was one of the most important institution supporting the U.S.-backed Gemayel Government, however, Tannous' departure marked a major shift in the American-trained armed forces towards a policy closely in tune with Syria's foreign policy and security objectives.

Sverker John Olof Göranson is a Swedish Army general with an armoured forces background. In 1995, he was the chief of staff of the Nordic battalion within UNPROFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Yugoslav Wars. Göranson was Inspector of the Swedish Army from 2005 to 2007, and served as Director Joint Staff from 2007 to 2009. He was the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 25 March 2009, when he succeeded Håkan Syrén, until 1 October 2015, when he was succeeded by Micael Bydén.
General Shantha Kottegoda, WWV, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP is a Sri Lankan general. He was the seventeenth Commander of the Sri Lankan Army from 1 July 2004 – 5 December 2007. He had served as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Brazil and Thailand. In April 2019, following the Easter Sunday bombings he was appointed as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.
Sedki Sobhy Sayyid Ahmad is an Egyptian politician and former General who was Minister of Defence of Egypt from 2014 until 2018. Sobhy previously served as the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces from August 2012 to March 2014. He was sworn in as Minister of Defence in March 2014 after Abdul Fattah al-Sisi resigned so he could stand for the presidency. He also commanded the Third Army for a time.
Abdul Meniem Al-Toras is the current Commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Command. He graduated from the Air Defense college in 1972, and saw action in the Yom Kippur War. He is the first commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces who graduated from the Air Defense College and was commissioned in the Air Defense Forces as a separated military branch. All previous commanders-in-chief were graduates of the Army academy and were commissioned in Army units, in fact many of them were commissioned in non-AD units like Armour, Artillery, Infantry, and Signals. He held most of the notable commands in the Egyptian Air Defense. On 14 August 2012 President Mohamed Morsi Appointed him as the new Commander in Chief of the Egyptian Air Defence command after he dismissed Lt. General Abd El Aziz Seif-Eldeen. He is a member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which was reorganized in September 2012.

Mahmoud Ibrahim Mahmoud Hegazy is an Egyptian general who was the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces from 2014 to 2017. Hegazy graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy in 1977, and served as the Chief of the Egyptian Military intelligence before his appointment as Chief of Staff by the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He is related to Sisi through the marriage of their respective children. Mahmoud Hegazy was replaced in 2017 by Mohammed Farid Hegazy in a shakeup of high level security personnel. No reason was given for the changes, but since 2013, Egypt has been fighting an ongoing Islamist insurgency that has killed of hundreds of policemen and soldiers. A week before the dismissal, sixteen policemen were killed during a police operation in the western desert of Giza province, and two high level security personnel for Giza were also dismissed. Hegazy was given a position of security advisor to the president.
