Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, AVSM, SM is an officer of the Indian Army who currently serves as the Chief of Staff of the Eastern Command. [2]
Malhotra is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Command and Staff Course (United Kingdom). [3]
Malhotra was commissioned into the Indian Army Armoured Corps in 1988. Over a career spanning more than three decades he has held command and staff appointments across operational, formation and headquarters levels. [4]
He commanded an Independent Armoured Brigade and later an Armoured Division. [5] He served as senior staff appointments at Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army), including as Additional Director General (Strategic Communication). [6] He also served as Additional Director General of Public Information. [7]
On 9 June 2023 he assumed command of the XII Corps. [8] He has since served in senior staff roles at command level, including as Chief of Staff of the Western Command and presently serving as Chief of Staff of the Eastern Command. [9] [10]
