Mohammad Moin Uddin,commonly known as Alhajj Md Moin Uddin,is a Bangladeshi politician who is the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad from Brahmanbaria-2 as an independent candidate on the 2024 Bangladeshi general election. [1] He previously served as the joint general secretary of Brahmanbaria District Awami League and held the position of vice-president in the Awami Volunteers' League. [2]
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a major political party in Bangladesh. Founded on 1 September 1978 by the late Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman,with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology,BNP later came out as one of the two most dominant parties in Bangladesh,along with its archrival Awami League. Initially being a big tent centrist party,it moved towards more right-wing politics later.

The result was a victory for the Bangladesh Awami League,which won 146 of the 300 directly elected seats,beginning Sheikh Hasina's first-term as Prime Minister. Voter turnout was 74.96%,the highest to date. This election was the second to be held in 1996,following controversial elections held in February a few months earlier.

In the Jatiya Sangsad,MPs for 300 seats are elected directly and MPs for 50 reserved women seats are elected indirectly by the MPs,thus popular by-elections are only held in the direct seats. As the 11th parliament is scheduled to be expire on 29 January 2024 and the Election Commission has announced to hold the next Bangladeshi general election between late December 2023 to early January 2024,all candidates elected by these by-polls will be members of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad.

He was elected member of Jatiya Sangsad from Brahmanbaria-1 as an Independent politician candidate on the 2024 Bangladeshi general election. He join the political party Bangladesh Awami League.
