The European Road Cycling Championships are the set of European championship events for the various disciplines and distances in road cycling and have been regulated by the European Cycling Union since 1995. The championships are for under-23, junior and Elite riders. The championships include a road race and an individual time trial since 1997, with women's events shorter than men's and junior's events shorter than under-23's. Championships are open to riders selected by their national cycling governing body. They compete in the colours of their country. As with national road race championships and the UCI Road World Championships, the winners are entitled to wear a special champion's jersey when racing throughout the year; in the case of the European Championship, a white jersey with blue bands and yellow stars, modelled on the flag of Europe, a symbolism and design adopted by both the Council of Europe and the European Union and widely used to represent the continent in sport.

Christine "Peanut" Vardaros is a vegan professional cyclist , both vegan and professional since 2000. She began her cycling career in 1996 as a mountain biker for Team Breezer run by Joe Breeze while still living in her hometown of Manhattan. In 2008, she relocated to Mill Valley, California to pursue her goal of becoming a professional which she achieved two years later. In 2002, she transitioned from the mountain bike to the road and cyclo-cross. In 2008, Vardaros again relocated to her current residence in Everberg, Belgium. Since this relocation, she is most known as a cyclo-cross specialist.

Thomas Pidcock is a British cyclist who currently competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers.
Cameron Mason is a British cyclist, who competes in cyclo-cross, gravel, road racing and mountain bike. He currently races for UCI cyclo-cross team The Cyclocross Reds and is part of the development Alpecin-Deceunick WorldTour Team on the road. His most notable achievement was coming 2nd in the men's elite race at the UEC European Cyclo-cross Championships in Pontchâteau, France in November 2023. He previously rode from 2019-2023 for Trinity Racing. He also runs a YouTube channel where he documents his races and the cyclocross scene.
The Pan American Cyclo-cross Championships are the continental cycling championships for cyclo-cross held annually for member nations of the Pan American Cycling Confederation. Riders competing in the championships are selected by the national governing body. The championships were first held in 2014 and have taken place annually since except for in 2020.
