Molly Wizenberg is an American chef, entrepreneur, and writer. She is the author of a food blog, Orangette, which won a James Beard Award for food writing in 2015. She has also written a memoir, The Fixed Stars, which won a Stonewall Book Award in 2021, and her previous recipe book/memoir, titled A Homemade Life, was a New York Times bestseller.
Wizenberg began her career studying anthropology, but did not complete her Ph.D. [1] In 2004, she started a food blog, Orangette. In 2015, she won the James Beard Foundation Award for best individual blog (for Orangette). [2] Wizenberg authored a book, titled A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table, which consisted of recipes and memoirs, and became a New York Times best-seller. [3] In 2009, Wizenberg co-founded a Seattle-based pizzeria named Delancey, with her (now ex) husband, Brandon Pettit. [4] She also wrote a book, titled Delancey: A Man, A Woman, A Marriage, which was an account of establishing the pizzeria, as well as a personal memoir. Wizenberg met her former husband, Brandon Pettit, after he read her blog and contacted her about it. [1] She had one daughter with him, June, before they divorced. In 2016, Wizenburg published a post on her blog, coming out and writing that she was "not straight anymore." [9] Wizenberg has since remarried, to Ash Wizenberg-Choi. Sandra Lee Christiansen, known professionally as Sandra Lee, is an American television chef and author. She is known for her "Semi-Homemade" cooking concept, which Lee describes as using 70 percent packaged and 30 percent fresh products. She received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle/Culinary Show Host in 2012 for her work and her show. As the partner of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, she served as the de facto First Lady Of New York from 2011 to 2019, when the couple ended their relationship.
Ruth Reichl, is an American chef, food writer and editor. In addition to two decades as a food critic, mainly spent at the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times, Reichl has also written cookbooks, memoirs and a novel, and been co-producer of PBS's Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie, culinary editor for the Modern Library, host of PBS's Gourmet's Adventures With Ruth, and editor-in-chief of Gourmet magazine. She has won six James Beard Foundation Awards.
Kim Marie Severson is a reporter for The New York Times. She won a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2018 as part of The New York Times coverage of sexual harassment and abuse and is a four-time James Beard award–winner for food writing. Tom Douglas is an American executive chef, restaurateur, author, and radio talk show host, and winner of the 1994 James Beard Award for Best Northwest Chef. In 2012 he also won the James Beard Award as Best Restaurateur. He is the author of Tom Douglas' Seattle Kitchen, which was named the Best American Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation and KitchenAid, in 2001. In 2005, he appeared on an episode of the Food Network's Iron Chef America, in which he defeated Chef Masaharu Morimoto.
Anne Marie "Ree" Drummond is an American blogger, author, food writer, photographer and television personality who lives on a working ranch outside of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, with her husband. In February 2010, she was listed as No. 22 on Forbes' Top 25 Web Celebrities. Her blog, The Pioneer Woman, which documents Drummond's daily life as a ranch wife and mother, was named Weblog of the Year 2009, 2010 and 2011 at the Annual Weblog Awards.
Pizzeria Bianco is a pizza restaurant in downtown Phoenix, Arizona established in 1987 by Chris Bianco, and has earned very positive reviews by notable food critics. Nationally recognized for its pizzas, the restaurant's small seating capacity can lead to wait times that sometimes surprise casual patrons. The restaurant features a wood-fired oven and homemade mozzarella cheese used in pizzas primarily fashioned by the owner himself. Vivian Howard is an American chef, restaurateur, author and television host. From 2013 to 2018, Howard hosted the PBS television series A Chef's Life focusing on the ingredients and cooking traditions of eastern North Carolina — using the backdrop of the Chef & the Farmer restaurant in Kinston, North Carolina, which Howard co-owned with her then-husband and business partner, artist Ben Knight.
