Monaam Elabed is a Tunisian Paralympian track and field athlete.
He was the first Tunisian to participate in a Paralympic Games, [1] when in 1988, he won two bronze medals in 400m C6 and 3000m cross country C6 event. He also competed in the 100 and 200m events. [2]
The 1988 Summer Paralympics were the first Paralympics in 24 years to take place in the same city as the Olympic Games. They took place in Seoul, South Korea. This was the first time the term "Paralympic" was used officially.
Athletics at the 1988 Summer Paralympics consisted of 345 events. Because of ties for third place in the men's 800 metre A1–3/A9/L2 and precision throw C1 events, a total of 347 bronze medals were awarded. Also had of a tie for first place in the women's 100 m 5–6 345 gold medals and 344 silver medals were awarded. Bulgaria, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Thailand and Tunisia won their first ever medals in this sport.

The National Olympic Committee of Pakistan was created in 1948. Pakistan first participated at the Paralympic Games in 1992, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Paralympic Games since then. Pakistan has won three medals, a silver, a bronze and a gold medal in the Paralympic Games. All three medals have come courtesy of Haider Ali in the Men's Long Jump and Discus Throw events. Pakistan has never participated in the Winter Paralympic Games.
Tunisia made its Paralympic Games debut at the 1988 Summer Paralympics in Seoul. It was represented by a single athlete, Monaam Elabed, who won two bronze medals in athletics. The country has competed in every subsequent edition of the Summer Paralympics, although it has never taken part in the Winter Paralympics. Tunisian competitors have only ever taken part in athletics events, with the sole exception of Dalila Tabai who competed in powerlifting in 2000.
Tunisia competed at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, Australia from August 29 to September 9, 2000.[1] This was the nation's fourth appearance at the Summer Paralympics since 1988. The Tunisian Paralympic Committee sent a total of 10 athletes to the Games, 8 men and 2 women to compete in Athletics only. Tunisia left Sydney with a total of 11 Paralympic medals.
Sandra Yaxley, OAM is a cerebral palsy Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the 1988 Seoul Games, she won a gold medal in the Women's 100 m Freestyle C6 and a silver medal in the Women's 50 m Backstroke C6. At the 1992 Barcelona Games, she won a gold medal in the Women's 4x50 m Freestyle S1–6 event and a bronze medal in the Women's 100 m Freestyle S6 event. She retired from swimming after the 1992 Paralympics but took up coaching disabled and able-bodied swimmers. She was coached by Wayne De Lacy.
Robert Walden is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the 1984 New York/Stoke Mandeville Games, he won four gold medals in the Men's 25 m Freestyle C6, Men's 50 m Freestyle C6, Men's 100 m Freestyle C6 and Men's 200 m Freestyle C6 events. He also participated without winning any medals at the 1988 Seoul Games.

Cerebral Palsy Football, also called 7-a-side football or formerly Paralympic Football, is an adaptation of association football for athletes with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders, including stroke and traumatic brain injury. From 1978 to 2014, cerebral palsy football was governed by the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA). In January 2015, governance of the sport was taken over by the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football, under the umbrella of Para Football.

She represented Tunisia at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she won the silver medal in the women's shot put F40 event. In 2019, she qualified to represent Tunisia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.
