Monique Rijkers is a Jewish Indonesian and pro-Israel activist. She was born in Makassar [1] and is the founder of the non-profit organization Hadassah of Indonesia, [2] a foundation that educates about diversity, especially regarding Jews and Israel. [3] Her surname is Rondonuwu-Mandagie, and she lives in Jakarta. [2] She is known to have met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in October 2017 at the Christian Media Summit. [1] Currently, She is one of the administrators of the YouTube channel FaktaIsrael.
She studied industrial microbiology at Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga. She then became active in journalistic activities. She has been working as a journalist for 14 years and has received 10 journalism awards. She has visited 36 countries, including the Silk Road Expedition, the Jewish Tour in Poland and Prague, and 3 times to Israel. [4] In 2016, she founded the Tolerance Film Festival. [5]
In 2021, on her personal Facebook account, she proposed to relocate Gaza residents to Indonesia and settle them in a place to be called Gaza, where it will become the 35th province of Indonesia, saying that many Indonesians loved and donated to Gaza. She also suggested Gaza to be ruled by Egypt while leaving the West Bank to Fatah since it did not launch missiles to Israel. [6]

On 31 March 2021, at around 16:30 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), a shooting occurred at the Indonesian National Police headquarters in South Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. A female assailant attacked police headquarters with a handgun and was shot dead after firing several rounds. The shooting happened three days after the cathedral bombing in Makassar.

It is described as a right-wing, populist, traditionalist conservatist, elitist, extra-parliamentary, non-partisan pressure group, due to being founded by right-wing politicians and former generals formerly supporting Prabowo Subianto during 2019 presidential election, although most of the figures are politically independent from Indonesian political parties at that time. It was also supported by members of the Islamic Defenders Front.

On 25 October 2022, at around 7:00 am Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), an attempted shooting occurred in front of the Istana Negara in Jakarta, Indonesia. A female assailant trespassed the Istana Negara security layer and attempted to shoot the President and/or Presidential Guard using an FN HP-DA Pistol. President of Indonesia Joko Widodo was not in the Istana Negara at the time of attack as he was visiting East Kalimantan and Nusantara. The assailant was apprehended immediately by the Presidential Guard (Paspampres) and Indonesian National Police on the scene and is currently detained at Metro Jaya Region Police HQ.
