Monique Wilson is a Saban politician. She served as a member of the Saba Island Council for the Saba Labour Party between 2015 and 2019.
Wilson was a candidate for the Saba Labour Party in the 2015 Island Council elections, in which she was elected after receiving 121 votes from the around a thousand possible voters. [1] This was the first time she had stood for election. [2] Out of the 18 people standing for election, Wilson placed third, and the highest for her party. As a result of the election, she took one of the two SLP seats on the Island Council in opposition to the Windward Islands People's Movement party who held three. She was the only woman elected to the council, [1] [3] and succeeded WIPM candidate Amelia Nicholson. [4]
In 2016, she was part of the official delegation who visited the government of Saint Kitts and Nevis to promote cooperation between the two island nations. [5] The following year, she spoke of how the Saba government needs to do more to encourage the skills of school leavers so that they may contribute greater to the local economy. [6] She also stresses the need for the Saban youth to learn Dutch. Outside of her work with the government, Wilson is also a social worker and family guardian. [7]
The 2019 elections saw Wilson lose her seat, with the SLP losing its representation in the Island Council. [8] [9]
Saint Kitts and Nevis, officially the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, is an island country in the West Indies. The Windward Islands People's Movement (WIPM) is a political party in Saba, which held all five seats in the Island Council after the 2019 elections and until June 1, 2022, when council member Hemmie Van Xanten resigned from the party while continuing to serve as a councilor. When party member Esmeralda Johnson was elected to a seat on the island council in 2019, she became the youngest person ever to serve on it.
Sovereign People is a political party in Curaçao founded in 2005 by Helmin Wiels and Harold Willems. The party aims for complete independence of Curaçao outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In 2012 Helmin Wiels stated that Curaçao could become independent within 10 years.
The Caribbean Netherlands are the three special municipalities of the Netherlands that are located in the Caribbean Sea. They consist of the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, although the term "Caribbean Netherlands" is sometimes used to refer to all of the islands in the Dutch Caribbean. In legislation, the three islands are also known as Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba or the BES islands. The islands are currently classified as public bodies in the Netherlands and as overseas countries and territories of the European Union; thus, EU law does not automatically apply.
General elections were held in Sint Maarten on 29 August 2014. They were the first elections since Sint Maarten became a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2010, at which point the Island Council became the Estates. The result was a victory for the United People's Party, which won seven of the 15 seats in the Estates.

Juan David Yrausquin is an Aruban politician. He was Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba between 17 November 2016 and 20 November 2017. He was Minister of Finance between 2013 and 2014 in the second Mike Eman cabinet.
Pauldrick François Teodoric"Paul"Croes is a former Aruban politician who served as the Minister of Social Affairs, Youth and Labor in the Second Eman Cabinet from 2013 to 2017. As a member of the Aruban People's Party, he was a member of the Parliament of Aruba between 2009 and 2013.
Jorien Wuite is a Sint Maarten-Dutch civil servant, diplomat, and politician. Born in The Hague, she moved to Sint Maarten aged 32 to work in government. She rose to the position of Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports and served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten in the period 2018–19. She moved back to the European part of the Netherlands due to her election to the House of Representatives in 2021 as a member of the social liberal party Democrats 66 (D66).

The COVID-19 pandemic in Bonaire is part of the ongoing global viral pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which was confirmed to have reached the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire on 16 April 2020. On 28 April, all cases recovered. On 14 July, two new cases were discovered. On 13 August, all cases recovered.
Island Council elections were held in Sint Eustatius on 21 October 2020. Sint Eustatius is a special municipality of the Netherlands. The elections were originally to be held on 20 March 2019, but were postponed due to administrative intervention by the Dutch government. On 23 September 2019, a new election date was announced.
Nina Seline den Heyer is a Dutch politician and a member of the Executive Council of Bonaire. She won the most votes in the 2019 elections, the first woman in history to do so.

Esther Bernabela is a doctor and politician from Bonaire. She is an independent member of the Island Council of Bonaire. In the 2017 election, Bernabela joined a coalition of elected members of the Bonaire Patriotic Union (UPB) and the Bonaire Democratic Party. This replaced the previous 2016 coalition that she was a member of. A former leader of the UPB, she declared herself an independent candidate in March 2016, and withdrew her support from the party in April. However by 2021 she had re-joined the party.
Snap general elections were held in Saint Kitts and Nevis on 5 August 2022, following the decision of incumbent prime minister Timothy Harris to dissolve the parliament on 11 May. Snap elections are constitutionally required within ninety days following the dissolution of parliament.
