The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 11 full members are located in four Northeastern states: Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. It was announced on October 23, 2023 that Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College will join the conference beginning in the 2024-25 season.

The Fairfield Stags men's lacrosse team represents Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and competes in the Colonial Athletic Association of NCAA Division I. The Stags have won eight regular season conference titles since 1996 and competed in the NCAA Division I men's lacrosse tournament in 2002 and 2005. The Stags play their home games at the new lacrosse-only Rafferty Stadium.

The Jacksonville Dolphins are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent Jacksonville University, located in Jacksonville, Florida. The Dolphins participate in NCAA Division I athletics, and are primarily members of the ASUN Conference. Some teams in sports that are not sponsored by the ASUN play in other conferences; specifically, the men's and women's rowing teams are in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Siena Saints men's lacrosse team represents Siena College in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse competition. The Saints play their home games at the Siena Turf Field, which has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Siena competes as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
The Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program that represents Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. The school's team competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and plays their home games in Run Baby Run Arena. They are currently led by second-year head coach Bashir Mason, who was hired on April 12, 2022. The Peacocks have appeared in the NCAA tournament five times.
The Monmouth Hawks men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, United States. The team is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Monmouth's first men's soccer team was fielded in 1982. The team plays its home games at Hesse Field in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Hawks are coached by Robert McCourt.
The 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship was the thirty-first annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college lacrosse. The tournament began with first-round play on May 12, and concluded with the championship game played at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, on May 27, 2012. The Northwestern Wildcats were the 2012 NCAA Tournament champions.
The 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 43rd annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Sixteen teams were selected to compete in the tournament based upon their performance during the regular season, and for some, by means of a conference tournament automatic qualifier. The Divisions I men’s lacrosse committees announced the matchups on 5 May 2013. Duke defeated Loyola, Notre Dame, Cornell, and Syracuse to capture to their second NCAA Championship.
The Marist men's lacrosse team represents Marist College in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. Marist currently competes as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team represents Saint Joseph's University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. The Hawks were elevated to the varsity level in 1992 after competing several years as a club sport. Starting with the 2023 season, the Hawks play in the newly established men's lacrosse league of their full-time home of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They play home games at Sweeney Field in Wynnefield, Philadelphia
The Providence Friars men's lacrosse team represents Providence College in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. The program was created in 1980 and plays its home games at Anderson Stadium. The Friars have competed in the Big East men's lacrosse conference since 2010, previously competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Through 2019, the team has an all–time record of 243-310-1.

The Divisions I men’s lacrosse committees announced the teams in the field on May 4, 2014.

Eighteen teams competed in the tournament, selected by winning an automatic qualifying conference tournament or as an at-large team based upon their performance during the regular season. The 18 teams were announced on May 3.
The 2017–18 Monmouth Hawks men's basketball team represented Monmouth University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by seventh-year head coach King Rice, played their home games at OceanFirst Bank Center as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 11–20 overall, 7–11 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. As the No. 8 seed in the MAAC tournament, they were defeated in the first round by Saint Peter's.
The 2017–18 Niagara Purple Eagles men's basketball team represented Niagara University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Purple Eagles, led by fifth-year head coach Chris Casey, played their home games at the Gallagher Center in Lewiston, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAAC tournament to Fairfield. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Eastern Michigan.
The 2018–19 Monmouth Hawks men's basketball team represented Monmouth University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and were led by 8th-year head coach King Rice. They finished the 2018–19 season 14–21 overall, 10–8 in MAAC play to finish in 6th place. As the 6th seed in the 2019 MAAC tournament, they defeated No. 11 seed Niagara in the first round 76–72, upset No. 3 seed Quinnipiac 98–92 in the quarterfinals, upset No. 2 seed Canisius 73–59 in the semifinals before losing to No. 1 seed Iona, 60–81 in the championship game.
