The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 13 full members are located in five Northeastern states: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.
Monmouth University is a private university in West Long Branch, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Founded in 1933 as Monmouth Junior College, it became Monmouth College in 1956 and Monmouth University in 1995 after receiving its charter. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928.
The Wright State Raiders are the athletics teams of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. The school currently participates in ten sports at the Division I level of the NCAA and are members of the Horizon League. The school's mascot is a wolf.
The Monmouth Hawks refer to the 23 sports teams representing Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Hawks compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Coastal Athletic Association, joining on July 1, 2022. The football team became an FCS Independent for the 2013 season, and moved to the Big South Conference on July 1, 2014. The women's bowling program was a charter member of the Southland Bowling League, a single-sport conference formed in January 2015, but moved that sport to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference after the 2017–18 season, and returned to the Northeast Conference, in which Monmouth had been a full member from 1985 to 2013, as a single-sport member for 2024–25 and beyond.
The Hartford Hawks are the NCAA Division III athletic teams of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. Hartford sponsors teams in eight men's and ten women's NCAA sanctioned sports.
The Hartford Hawks baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The program is a member of the NCAA Division III Conference of New England. The program had been a member of the NCAA Division I America East Conference from 1985 to 2022. It has played home games at Fiondella Field since the venue opened at the start of the 2006 season.

They are currently led by head coach King Rice and play their home games at the OceanFirst Bank Center. The Hawks had wins over five power conference opponents and received votes in the AP poll for the first time ever during the 2015–16 season. They last appeared in the NCAA tournament in 2006.

The facility is located at the southwest corner of the Monmouth campus. It features a natural grass surface and has the following dimensions: 325 ft. (LF), 365 ft. (LCF), 390 ft. (CF), 365 ft. (RCF), 320 ft. (RF).

The other remaining teams identify themselves as being from the New York metropolitan area with the National Women's Soccer League team having a team name that includes both New Jersey and New York. The National Hockey League and National Basketball Association teams representing Philadelphia have their training facilities in South Jersey.

The team plays its home games at Bainton Field on campus in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Scarlet Knights are members of the Big Ten Conference, which they joined prior to the 2014 season.
The 2019–20 Monmouth Hawks men's basketball team represented Monmouth University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by ninth-year head coach King Rice, played their home games at OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–13 overall, 12–8 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. Before they could face #5 seeded Quinnipiac in the MAAC tournament quarterfinals, all postseason tournaments were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020–21 Monmouth Hawks men's basketball team represented Monmouth University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by tenth-year head coach King Rice, played their home games at OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 12–8, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for first place. As the No. 2 seed in the MAAC tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to No. 7 seed Fairfield 60–79.
The 2021 Monmouth Hawks football team represented the Monmouth University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Hawks played their home games at the Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The team was coached by twenty-ninth-year head coach Kevin Callahan.
Howard Joseph Dombroski is baseball pitcher in the Houston Astros organization. He played college baseball for the Monmouth Hawks. He attended Monmouth University to follow in his older brother Regan’s footsteps who was also a star pitcher for the Hawks. The brothers lived together on campus, while in school together, claiming that much of the success was due to bringing their childhood bunk bed with them to Monmouth's West Long Branch campus.

The Hawks, led by twelfth-year head coach King Rice, played their home games at OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch, New Jersey, as first-year members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). They finished the season 7–26, and 5–13 in CAA play to finish in 13th place.
