The monument to Viktor Ponedelnik (or sculpture "The Footballer"), a bronze sculptural composition, [1] was installed near the stadium Olimp-2 [1] in Rostov-on-Don in honor to the footballer Viktor Ponedelnik, who scored the "golden goal" in the final of the 1960 European Nations' Cup. [2]
In Rostov-on-Don, on the initiative of the Ministry of Sports of the region, a contest was organized to create a sculpture of the footballer Viktor Ponedelnik.
The creation of the bronze sculpture took two months, from September to November 2013. The cost of materials was estimated at 750 thousand rubles, though the sculptor and casters worked for free. [2] The sculpture is 2 meters high. [3]
The Don sports minister declared that the installation and the opening of the monument would coincide with the day when the first match of FC Rostov in the UEFA Europa League would take place. It was decided to install the monument near the stadium Olympus-2. [2] The opening of the monument to footballer Victor Ponedelnik, which is also often called the sculpture "The Footballer", was held on August 28, 2015. [4]

This composition was the third monument in Rostov oblast devoted to personages of the novel And Quiet Flows the Don. Grigory and Aksinya in a boat along with other monuments of the Don theme made appearance in Rostov-on-Don within the provision of urban amenities.
Monument of the Great October Revolution is a bronze monument dedicated to the October Revolution and establishment of the Soviet rule in Rostov-on-Don. Sculptor V. Dubovik and architect E. Polyanskiy created design of the sculptures of three men: a soldier, a seaman and a peasant. The peasant keeps the flag flying. The seaman take purchase on a rifle. The sculptures stands on the red granitical 4.5-metre pedestal. By design, general appearance of the monument symbolize steadfastness of the triumph of the Revolution. The sculpture composition was opened in 1979. It is located at the spot where a rally for establishment of the Soviet rule in the city took place on October 26, 1917. The front of the base carries a bronze plaque reminding about this event:

Monument to innocent murdered is a memorial in the center of Rostov-on-Don, which was erected in memory of people from Rostov Oblast repressed between 1921 and 1961. The opening ceremony of the monument took place on October 30, 1994, during the commemoration of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions. Rostov Oblast Association of Victims of Political Repression "Memorial" and its chairman, E. Yemelyanova initiated the monument's construction. A rally in memory of victims of political repression and floral tribute are held annually. Between 1921 and 1961, 90,000 people were repressed, 16,300 of which were killed. Burial sites remain unknown.
Monument to Andrew the Apostle is a bronze monument in the center of Bataysk of Saint Andrew, who was one of the 12 apostles of Christ. The opening ceremony of the monument took place on September 27, 2003, when in old calendar Western Rite Orthodox Parishes Feast of the Cross has been commemorated. Ataman of the Don Cossack Host Nicholay Kozitsin, inhabitants of Bataysk, the Don and Zaporozhian Cossacks, students of the Rostov Maritime College attended at the ceremony. The statue is located on Saint Andrew Square near Holy Trinity Church. The 6-metre statue was designed by Honored Artist of Russia, sculptor Sergei Isakov. Erection of the monument was financed by Saint Nicholas's trust fund, which was the initiator of this project. The monument was built partially on donations, partially with funds from Don Cossacks. Metropolitan of the Diocese of Rostov and Novocherkassk Panteleimon blessed the erection of the statue. The monument in Bataysk is the only monument to Andrew the Apostle on Southern Russia.
Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure is a central urban park in Rostov-on-Don, Rostov oblast, Russia, named after Maxim Gorky. It is the eldest park in Rostov-on-Don. The park was established in 1813 on the skirts of the city. Now it is located in center of Rostov-on-Don between Pushkinskaya street, Bolshaya Sadovaya street, Budyonovskiy avenue and Semashko lane. Since 1998 the park is protected as an object of cultural heritage of regional value.
