Morgan Chesky (born 1986) is a national NBC News correspondent. [1] [2] He was raised in Kerrville, Texas, and attended Sam Houston State University. [3] Previously, he was a news anchor in Seattle. [4] [5]

Chesky was hospitalized for high-altitude pulmonary edema in May 2023. He suffered from the health scare while hiking with his uncle to celebrate his 37th birthday. [6]

John Michael Seigenthaler is an American news anchor and a member of the George Foster Peabody Awards board of jurors. He is a former weekend anchor and correspondent for both NBC and MSNBC. He is the son of the late newspaper journalist John Lawrence Seigenthaler, and named for his father. He is best known for his eight-year tenure as weekend anchor of NBC Nightly News. In July 2008, Seigenthaler joined his family company Seigenthaler Public Relations, but continued to be based in New York. From 2013–2016 he worked for the now defunct Al Jazeera America as its evening news anchor.

The first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States was announced by the state of Washington on January 21, 2020. Washington made the first announcement of a death from the disease in the U.S. on February 29 and later announced that two deaths there on February 26 were also due to COVID-19. Until mid-March, Washington had the highest absolute number of confirmed cases and the highest number per capita of any state in the country, until it was surpassed by New York state on April 10, 2020. Many of the deceased were residents of a nursing home in Kirkland, an Eastside suburb of Seattle in King County.
