Morgan Simianer is an American cheerleader and television personality. She received international recognition after appearing in the Netflix docuseries Cheer. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] She became a fan favorite due to her sweet personality and her troubled past. [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

Personal life

Simianer is originally from Loveland, Colorado. When she was a sophomore in high school, she and her brother were forced to live in a trailer when their father was living with his new wife and her children, and their mother disappeared when they were still very young. When her brother Wyatt turned 18, he left to go search for their mother and Morgan was forced to live alone in the trailer. [14] When her grandparents became aware of the situation, they invited her to live with them. [15] [16] She attended Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, where she was a member of the cheer team coached by Monica Aldama. [17] In January 2020, she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show , along with other members of the team. [18] [19] [20]

Cheer Athletics have won 24 World Championships at The Cheerleading Worlds sponsored by the USASF.

The University of Kentucky cheerleading squad, representing the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, began in 1905 and the first cheerleaders were yell leaders who were usually males. University of Kentucky's first coed squad began in 1938 with four males and four females. The coed squad became the norm in the late 60s, early 70s. T. Lynn Williamson was the cheerleading advisor from 1978 until his retirement in 2020. Williamson oversaw the program and brought in coaches to help build and advance the cheerleading program. Willimason's role encouraged Dale Baldwin to attend the University of Kentucky, who was a member of the University of Kentucky Cheerleading squad when the team won its first national championship in 1985. The University of Kentucky cheerleading squad has won the Universal Cheerleaders Association National College Cheerleading Championship twenty-four times.

Based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders by journalist Kate Torgovnick, the series focuses in the lives of college cheerleaders, mainly Marti Perkins, a pre-law college student who has to join the cheerleading team, the Hellcats, in order to get the athletic scholarship she needs. The main cast also includes Ashley Tisdale, Robbie Jones, Heather Hemmens, Matt Barr, Gail O'Grady, and Sharon Leal.

Cheer is an American sport television docuseries airing on Netflix starting in January 2020. The six-part series follows the nationally ranked forty-member Navarro College Bulldogs Cheer Team from Corsicana, Texas, under the direction of coach Monica Aldama, as they prepare to compete in the National Cheerleading Championship held annually in Daytona Beach, Florida. The episodes focus especially on five individual Cheer Team members and include elements of the history of cheerleading, including the formation of the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA).

Monica Aldama is an American cheerleading coach. She is the coach of the co-ed cheerleading team at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.

Gabriella “Gabi” Butler is an American cheerleader, YouTuber and television personality. She received national recognition after appearing in the Netflix docuseries Cheer and had been on many teams before her appearance in the Netflix show, such as the California All Stars Smoed, Top Gun TGLC, Cheer Athletics Wildcats, and Gymtyme Blink. She is most recently a member of the Weber State University and the Navarro College cheer teams.

Jeremiah Harris is an American former cheerleader who received national recognition after appearing in the 2020 Netflix docuseries Cheer. In September and December 2020, he was charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with production of child pornography and other child-related sex crimes: "sexual exploitation of children, receiving child pornography, traveling with the attempt to engage in sexual conduct with a minor, enticement and other charges. On February 10, 2022, Harris pled guilty as charged to two of the seven indictments against him. On July 6, 2022, Harris was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and 8 years of court supervised probation to commence after his release from prison.

Lexis “Lexi” Marie Brumback is an American cheerleader and television personality. She received national recognition after appearing in the Netflix docuseries Cheer. She is known for being a tumbler with elite tumbling skills.
