FIBA Europe is the administrative body for basketball in Europe, within the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which includes all 50 national European basketball federations.
The Morocco national basketball team represents Morocco in international basketball competitions. The team is governed by the Moroccan Royal Basketball Federation, also known as the FRMBB. The Nigeria women's national basketball team, also known as the D'Tigress, represents Nigeria in international women's basketball competition, and are regulated by the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Nigeria. Nigeria has one of the most successful women's national teams on the African Continent, being the current African champions. They have won the Women's Afrobasket Championship consecutively for four times in a roll and six times in total. They won in 2017 at Bamako, Mali, 2019 at Dakar, Senegal, 2021 at Yaounde, Cameroun, and 2023 at Kigali, Rwanda.

Hicham El Guerrouj, a retired middle distance runner for Morocco, won two gold medals for Morocco at the Athletics at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

A total of 212 national federations are now members, organized since 1989 into five zones: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
The Serbia women's national basketball team represents Serbia in international women's basketball competition and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia are currently ranked tenth in the FIBA World Rankings.

The Belgium women's national basketball team represents Belgium in international women's basketball, and are controlled by Basketball Belgium. Belgium's first appearance in a major international tournament came at EuroBasket 1950. The team has participated in the European Championship fourteen times overall. Their best results at the event are winning the title in 2023, and two third place finishes. Belgium has also competed on the global stage, where they have made two appearances at the World Cup, and one at the Olympic Games (2020).
The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the 19th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams. The tournament was the second to feature 32 teams and was hosted by multiple nations for the first time in its history—the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia—from 25 August to 10 September 2023.
The Mexico women's national basketball team, is controlled by the Asociación Deportiva Mexicana de Baloncesto ADEMEBA Mexican Basketball Association and represents Mexico in international competitions.
The Syria women's national basketball team is the nationally controlled basketball team representing Syria at world basketball competitions for women, administered by the Syrian Basketball Federation.
