Mostafizur Rahman Patal is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament of Bogra-5.
Patal was elected to parliament from Bogra-5 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1973. [1]
Patal was assassinated in November 1974. [2] His wife,Begum Kamrunnahar Putul,served as a member of parliament from women's reserved seat as a candidate of the Awami League. [3]
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 30 December 2018 to elect 300 directly-elected members of the Jatiya Sangsad. The result was another landslide victory for the Awami League-led Grand Alliance led by Sheikh Hasina. The elections were marred by violence,and were widely considered by opposition politicians and the international community to be rigged.
