Motahaldu or Himmatpur Motahaldu is a town in City Haldwani, Nainital district in the Indian States and territories of India of Uttarakhand. It is situated on National Highway-87, viz. Rampur-Nainital National Highway and is just 8 km from Haldwani City centre. The nearest railway junction is 7 km away at Lalkuan (LKU) & nearest Airport is 16 km away at Pantnagar.

Economy

Motahaldu has many stone factories, dairy and agricultural farms.

A Private Industrial Estate (SEZ) has been developed at Village- Padlipur in the name of "Mahaveer Audyogik Aasthan (AOP)". This industrial estate has been notified by Central Govt. of India & State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand (SIDCUL). This estate is one of its kind in the whole Nainital District.

Many industries have been set up in the estate, providing employment & better living standard to the people living in its vicinity, which further leads to the overall development of the area. The developers of the Industrial Estate have also provided with a temple in the said premises.

There is also a government medical centre.

National Highway 109 (India)

National Highway 109, , is a highway in India which runs in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the most important routes, connecting the entire Kumaon region to the state as well as the country. It is also the major route towards the hill stations such as Nainital, Kausani, Ranikhet, Mukteswar and Almora from Delhi. Previously known as NH 87, it was renumbered as NH 109 in 2010. The northern terminal is at NH 7 near Karnaprayag and the southern terminal is at National Highway 9 near Rudrapur. More than 10,000 vehicles travel through NH-109 in tourist season.

Narayan Pal

Narayan Pal is an Indian politician and social worker who is working as National Coordinator of Kisan Congress, and in charge of Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep and Goa. A two time (2002-2012) Member of the Legislative Assembly (Uttarakhand) from 2002-2012, Narayan Pal is a leader of the Indian National Congress party. As MLA from 2002 to 2012, Narayan Pal served as leader of Vidhan Mandal Dal and Chairman Assurance Committee, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. He started his political career at age of 18 years in 1984-85, when he was elected joint secretary of MB PG College, Haldwani. In the year 1990 he became president of Youth Congress Nainital district and remain in this post till 1995. He was also vice president of Indian Youth Congress Uttar Predesh.
