Motorpsychos were a heavy rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They released four albums and won several regional and national band competitions, and consisted of longtime members Pamela Simmons, Amy Bianco, and Dennis Brown.
Motorpsychos were formed in Pittsburgh in 2000 by guitarist Pamela Simmons and singer Rachel Cassady, both formerly of the band Go To Helen. Rounding out the original lineup were bassist Amy Bianco, also of the Pittsburgh hardcore ensemble Reducer, and drummer Tom Venturino. Shortly before the band recorded its debut album, Venturino departed and was replaced by Dennis Brown. The band became one of the most successful rock groups in Pittsburgh and toured throughout the northeastern United States. [1] The self-titled album Motorpsychos was released in June 2002. [2]
Cassady unexpectedly left the band in late 2003. Instead of merely recruiting a new lead vocalist, Motorpsychos decided to expand their sound by adding singer/guitarist Abby Krizner (formerly of Throttle Audio). Bianco and Simmons took on lead vocal duties as well, resulting in a unique three-frontwoman lineup. This expanded version of Motorpsychos debuted in January 2004 and quickly began accumulating accomplishments, including a first-place finish in the Rolling Rock Hard & Heavy Rock Wars in 2004. Their second album Piston Whipped, recorded with prize money, was released in January 2005 and featured Bianco, Simmons, and Krizner all singing lead on alternating tracks. Following the album's release, the band placed strongly in several national rock competitions, becoming finalists in the 2005 Zippo Hot Tour Competition [3] and winning the 2005 K-Rock, Hard Rock Winter Rock Challenge, a competition with 107 other bands. [4] Motorpsychos were also awarded with slots on the WXDX X-Fest in 2005 and the Warped Tour in 2005 and 2006. [5]
The band's third album, Coming of Rage, was released on January 31, 2009. The album was recorded about a year earlier, in late 2007 and early 2008, but the release was delayed while the band investigated record company offers for distribution and promotion. The band eventually released the album independently. [6] Krizner departed shortly thereafter, and the band continued as a trio. Their fourth album, Sheppard's File, was released on May 19, 2012.

Known for their face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s with shock rock-style live performances which featured fire-breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics. The band has gone through several lineup changes, with Stanley and Simmons remaining the only consistent members. The current lineup consists of Stanley, Simmons, guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.
The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band formed in 1970 in San Jose, California, known for their flexibility in performing across numerous genres and their vocal harmonies. Active for five decades, with their greatest success in the 1970s, the group's current lineup consists of founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, alongside Michael McDonald and John McFee, and touring musicians including John Cowan, Marc Russo (saxophones), Ed Toth (drums), and Marc Quiñones (percussion). Other long-serving members of the band include guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (1974–1979), bassist Tiran Porter and drummers John Hartman, Michael Hossack, and Keith Knudsen. They performed gospel influenced songs such as "Take Me in Your Arms " and "Jesus is Just Alright".
Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer and musician Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. After recording independent EPs as a duo in the late 90s, and a demo CD, Evanescence released their debut studio album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003. Propelled by the success of hit singles like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", Fallen sold more than four million copies in the US by January 2004, garnering the band two Grammy Awards out of six nominations. The band released their first live album and concert DVD, Anywhere but Home, in 2004, which sold over one million copies worldwide.

Motorpsycho is a Norwegian rock band from Trondheim. Their music can generally be defined as progressive or psychedelic rock, but they also mix in elements from alternative, jazz, post-rock, pop, country and many other musical styles. The members of the band are Bent Sæther, Hans Magnus "Snah" Ryan and Tomas Järmyr (drums). Until March 2005, Håkon Gebhardt was the band's drummer. From December 2007 to May 2016 Kenneth Kapstad was the drummer of the band, being replaced by Tomas Järmyr, who joined in early 2017. Järmyr left the band in January 2023.
Helix is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band. They formed in 1974, and are best known for their 1984 single "Rock You". The original lineup was formed by drummer Bruce Arnold, and consisted of lead vocalist Brian Vollmer, guitarists Ron Watson and Rick "Minstrel" Trembley, keyboardist Don Simmons, and bassist Keith "Bert" Zurbrigg. However, their most well known lineup, and the one that recorded "Rock You", was the 1980s version of the band: Vollmer on vocals, accompanied by guitarists Brent "The Doctor" Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg "Fritz" Hinz. The history of the band has been marked by many lineup changes, with Vollmer being the sole constant member and only remaining member of the original lineup. Although Hackman was killed in a tour bus accident in 1992, the surviving members of the 1980s lineup reunited in 2009 for an album and have continued to tour since 2011. Watson died in 2019. Simmons died in 2021.
Faster Pussycat is an American hard rock/glam metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985 by vocalist Taime Downe, guitarists Brent Muscat and Greg Steele and bassist Kelly Nickels. The group has since gone through numerous lineup changes leaving Downe as the only constant member. They broke up in 1993, but reformed in 2001. Faster Pussycat has released four studio albums to date: Faster Pussycat (1987), Wake Me When It's Over (1989), Whipped! (1992) and The Power and the Glory Hole (2006). They were a successful and influential hard rock band during the late 1980s and early 1990s, having sold over two million records worldwide.
L.A. Guns are an American glam metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1983. The lineup currently consists of Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, Adam Hamilton and Shawn Duncan. The first incarnation of the group was formed by Tracii Guns and Rob Gardner in 1983 and merged with fellow Los Angeles group, Hollywood Rose, to form Guns N' Roses in March 1985. After only a brief tenure in that band, Guns reformed L.A. Guns with a new lineup, consisting of Paul Black, Mick Cripps, Robert Stoddard, and Nickey Alexander. Black would soon be replaced by former Girl singer Phil Lewis while former Faster Pussycat bassist Kelly Nickels was added to the group. Later, Alexander would be replaced by former W.A.S.P. drummer Steve Riley with this being known as the "classic lineup" of L.A. Guns. They achieved moderate chart success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. However, the group went through numerous lineup changes and failed to regain mainstream attention.
Rage is a German heavy metal band formed in 1984 by Peter "Peavy" Wagner. They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene which emerged in the early to mid-1980s, and have been referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four" of power metal, along with Grave Digger, Helloween and Running Wild.
Ronald Douglas Montrose was an American guitarist who founded and led the rock bands Montrose and Gamma. He also performed and did session work with a variety of musicians, including Van Morrison, Herbie Hancock, Beaver & Krause, Boz Scaggs, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, The Beau Brummels, Dan Hartman, Tony Williams, The Neville Brothers, Marc Bonilla and Sammy Hagar.

Beautiful Creatures are an American hard rock band formed in 1999 by guitarist DJ Ashba and singer Joe Lesté of Bang Tango. The group's current lineup is composed of Lesté, Alex Grossi, Anthony Focx, Kenny Kweens (bass) and Timmy Russell (drums). Previously the group featured Michael Thomas and Glen Sobel among others while founder DJ Ashba is currently the lead guitarist for Sixx:A.M.

October Rage are a Rock Band formed in 2008 on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia by brothers Nick and Will Roberts. They were winners in a songwriting competition for radio station Triple M Sydney in 2010 and won the opportunity to open for Bon Jovi in Sydney. Following this taste of success recorded the band's debut album, Outrage, released on iTunes September 2011. "Outrage" lead to the "Outrage tour" of the U.S. 2012–13.
Nevermore was an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. The band has been inactive since 2011, due to personal issues between the band members. In April 2015, lead singer Warrel Dane confirmed that Nevermore had not disbanded, and there was a possibility for them to continue in the next two years with another album. However, Dane died in December 2017, ending hopes of a reunion.
