The Moulin de la Tour is a windmill located in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France. It is listed as a Historic Monument.
The mill, built in the 17th century, was located in the fiefdom of Ivry and Saint-Frambourg. [1] It was operational until the early 19th century.
It was mentioned in an act of attribution in 1680, then on the Royal hunting map in 1765, when it was sold to miller Charles Mortier. [2]
The building was subsequently used as a warehouse. It was dilapidated and lost its wings, so it was threatened with demolition.
In 1975, the mill was saved from an urban planning project by the city council of Ivry-sur-Seine and an association. [3] On May 6, 1976, it was moved 35 meters away on hydraulic jacks and two parallel narrow-gauge railway tracks. [4] It was restored by the city council and opened to visitors.
It is the only surviving windmill in Val-de-Marne, and was listed a Class Historic Monument in 1979. [5]

The Moulin de la Galette is a windmill and associated businesses situated near the top of the district of Montmartre in Paris. Since the 17th century the windmill has been known for more than just its milling capabilities. Nineteenth-century owners and millers, the Debray family, made a brown bread, galette, which became popular and thus the name of the windmill and its businesses, which have included a famous guinguette and restaurant. In the 19th century, Le Moulin de la Galette represented diversion for Parisians seeking entertainment, a glass of wine and bread made from flour ground by the windmill. Artists, such as Renoir, van Gogh, Ramón Casas and Pissarro have immortalized Le Moulin de la Galette; likely the most notable was Renoir's festive painting, Bal du moulin de la Galette.

Fort d'Ivry was built in the Paris suburb of Ivry-sur-Seine between 1841 and 1845, as one of the forts in a ring of strong points surrounding Paris.
