Mousumi Nag is a Bangladeshi model and actress. She made her media debut in the television drama Shure Akaa Chobi [1] in 2006, which was a commercial success. Since then, she has acted 150 dramas and is now one of the most popular names in the Bangladeshi TV drama industry. She has also appeared in films. [2]

Career

Nag became most famous after playing a role in the film Run Out . [3] In this movie, she co-starred with another famous TV celebrity, Shajal Noor. The film was a success at the box office. She then she acted in several Dhallywood films, including Feel My Love and many others. [4] [5] [6]

Personal life

Mousumi married Mithu Biswas in 2000 and changed her name to Mousumi Biswas. The couple has a son, Prithibi Biswas. Mousumi divorced Mithu and married Soeb Islam on 29 August 2013. This couple also has a son (aged 8). [7] On 10 March 2024, she gave birth to a daughter. [8]

<i>Devdas</i> (2013 film) 2013 Bangladeshi film

Devdas is a 2013 Bangladeshi romantic periodic drama film based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel Devdas. The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, who also directed the 1982 version and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar under the banner of his Impress Telefilm, based on the 1917 novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcoholism, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a courtesan, Chandramukhi, played by Moushumi.

Arifa Pervin Zaman, known by her stage name Moushumi, is a Bangladeshi film actress and director. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress three times for her roles in Meghla Akash (2001), Devdas (2013) and Taarkata (2014). She has acted in over 150 films and made her directorial debut with Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003).

Run Out is a 2015 Bangladeshi action romance film written by Rafiqul Islam Poltu. Directed by Tonmoy Tansen, it is presented by Sadat Mahmud Tanvir as a production of New Gen Entertainment. Development began in February 2012. The film stars Shajal Noor, Rumana Swarna, Mousumi Nag, Tanvir Hossain Probal, Mahmudul Islam Selim, Sabiha Masum, Goutam Saha, Jubayer Hillol, Zara, Aurindom Nattya Gosthi and Tariq Anam Khan in a cameo in the film.

He is popularly known in the media as "King Khan" and "King of Dhallywood", also referred as "Number One Shakib Khan". Currently he is the highest paid actor in Bangladesh.

<i>Dulavai Zindabad</i> 2017 Bangladeshi film

Dulabhai Zindabad is a Bangladeshi dramatic action film directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar. The film was written by Abdullah Zahir Babu and screenplay was by Montazur Rahman Akbar. The film stars Moushumi, Mim, Bappy and Dipjol in the lead roles. with Aruna Biswas, Amit Hasan, Ahmed Sharif as supporting cast. The film was produced by Md Nadir Khan under the banner of Rajesh Films. The film was released on 20 October 2017 in Bangladesh.

Khairun Sundari is a mid-2000s Bangladeshi folk film based on a true story starring Moushumi and Ferdous Ahmed in lead roles, directed by A K Sohel.It was remade in India as Praner Swami starring Ferdous Ahmed, Rachana Banerjee & A.T.M. Shamsuzzaman It became the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film in 2005.

Ratrir Jatri is a 2019 Bangladeshi Bengali thriller drama film written and directed by Habibul Islam Habib and produced by Habibul Islam Habib and Faridur Reza Sagor. It is distributed by Jaaz Multimedia. Starring Anisur Rahman Milon, Mousumi, and A.T.M. Shamsuzzaman in the lead roles.
