Mrityunjayee Prangan A sculpture installation named 'Mrityunjayi' for Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was located at Bijoy Sarani Circle in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [1] After the resignation of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina on 5 August, the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sculpture was demolished. [2]
Sculptures Sculptures were displayed in Victory Day parades in 2021 and 2022. [3] The sculpture was erected under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army. [4] [5] After Sheikh Hasina resignation on 5 August, the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman statue was demolished. [2]
There is a sculpture of former president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in this premises. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's contribution to the Bengali language movement to the Bangladesh Liberation War struggle and various incidents of the language movement and freedom struggle are highlighted in the mural of the sculpture wall. The length of the entire route is 9.39 kilometres (5.83 mi), with the tunnel making up 3.32 kilometres (2.06 mi) of the length. The tunnel diameter is 10.80 metres (35.4 ft). It is expected, over 17,000 vehicles will be able to use this tunnel daily. The cost of the project is estimated at US$1.1B, of which around half is financed by the Exim Bank of China. The Bangabandhu Tunnel is the first underwater road tunnel in South Asia. It is expected to improve the Dhaka–Chittagong–Cox's Bazar highway network. A Chinese company, China Communications Construction Company, was selected to construct it. The tunnel segments were produced in Zhenjiang, China.

2024 Bangladesh post-resignation violence took place after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, targeting Awami League supporters, religious minorities, government and security officials.
