Lieutenant General Muhammad Aamer is a retired three-star general of the Pakistan Army and currently serving as the Ambassador of Pakistan to the State of Qatar. He served as Commander of XXX Corps, Adjutant-General at the GHQ, and Military Secretary to the President of Pakistan.

Military career

Muhammad Aamer was commissioned into the Artillery Regiment in 1987. [1]

From 2011 to 2013, he served as the Military Secretary to President Asif Ali Zardari. [2]

He commanded the 10th Infantry Division in Lahore between 2017 and 2018 as a Major General. [1]

On 11 September 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed as the Adjutant-General at GHQ. [3]

In October 2021, Aamer took charge as the Commander of XXX Corps in Gujranwala. [4]

Diplomatic career

Following retirement in 2023, he was first nominated as Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates in August 2024. [5] However, in December 2024, the government reassigned him as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Qatar. [6]
